Music slowed by 800%

In case you haven't caught onto this trend yet, it seems to be getting popular to take a song, slow it down by 800% and repost it, making it into ambient epicness, like something straight out of coldplay. I think it's pretty awesome, but what do you guys think?

I've heard that high pitch sounds do really well for this, since when streched carries over a longer period of time (hence the bieber voice).

how are these usually made? I busted open soundforge for this but it caps out at 500% and echoes the music to hell and back. sounded pretty alright in a sort of noise-ish way but that's not really what I wanted.

try a different mixing editor like avs or protools or something. gold wave's free and you can slow music to as far as you need to.
