Can anyone post a link to a site that has a free, downloadable music maker? Google isn't helping me these days. :|:

It can only create midis, but it works quite well.

you best bet as far as free goes would probably be searching for a midi program

it really depends on what you're trying to do. midi apps usually involve scoring / using sheet-music styled composition, but other programs use piano rolls, samplers, and then there's trackers which are really something else.

finale notepad, fl studio, anvil.. i cant think of any more at the moment. they're all free tho.

Oky dokey I know of afew that might help you out:

Audacity (google search will find it);
Perhaps not ideal for music but is great for recording. I like to use it for voice acting or if im just recording a solo instrument play a robato tune

Powertabs (http://www.power-tab.net/):
A great guitar tab oriented free MIDI writer.

Tuxguitar (http://www.tuxguitar.com.ar/):
Same as powertab. Runs on Linux and windows.

Reaper (http://www.reaper.fm/download.php):
Excellent DAW (digital audio workstation). Not technically free, but will work fine without paying a cent (you just have to put up with it asking you to buy a liscense).
