Mu user bar tutorial (pictures)

I've always wanted to know how to make these, so I just made my own version of making them.

Instead of the overrated photoshop, I used Fireworks MX.

Yes, everyone, I'm giving away my secret. I'm going to teach you how to create a user title, like the ones I make. But, we'll be making my 2.0 User titles, instead of the thick ones everyone has. I'll be making the skinny 2.0 ones from now on, and here's how you make them.

We'll be making this in Fireworks MX.

Ok, let's start off. Open up FMX and make a new page, 350 width and 19 height.

Now, create a rectangle that is 350x19 so it fills the whole thing up.

Make sure you add a black border around the rectangle (it's at the bottom on the Picture Control Panel), and make a gradient on it that's long stripes going horizontal, and make them have a transparency of, like, 34.

Now over the blue rectangle, create a long circle with a border that's a transparent (white with a red X on it), and the fill is white.

Now lower the transparency of the white circle to as low as you want it. The higher the transparency, the whiter it is. The lower the transparency, the more it blends in with the blue bakcground. You should want it to, say, 29.

Now do exactly what you see in the next picture while you have the blue background selected.

And now just add text, I use the visitor -BRK- font.

Now save it as a .png, and upload it to a image hoster (like photobucket), and show it off!

Now create some and challenge me to a user bar contest!

Thanks, it's my first real tutorial. I know most people use gradients, but I wanted to make my own version. Besides, I like fireworks more.
