Well, I'm still pretty confused. All I did was make my deck in the editor that I actually have irl (50 cards) but whenever I click the link in the first post to find players the window is just blank
Any other ways to get someone to try this out for the first time?
You don't need to have the link from the first post to play. There's an option to do that right in MWS. Check at the top. There's both options for test play and online play.
The test play, you don't actually verse anyone. MWS just gives the other player per say(NPC) the same deck as you. I never used that though. Kinda pointless really. However, if you buy the program, I think the NPC's deck changes to something random...or something...I'm not sure. The main reason for the testplay though is so you can see how your deck flows, such as starting draw(7 cards), mana flow, and upkeep.
The online play is located right beside the test play option I believe. It will take you to the MWS site(server), which is where you can see the currently playing people. There, you can either join an open game, or host a game. Your screen name will always be guest though(or whatever the hell it is), until you change it. To change your screen name, I'd usually go to test play, and then go to the top part of the screen, and select options. (I can't remember if it's options, but it's one of the options at the top right of the screen when you test play).
IMPORTANT: I'd also make sure that you get a feel for the keys first and stuff before you actually play online with people. Some of the people that play can be really dumb and cocky, and take the game waaaaayyy to seriously. So if your not quike with some people, they'll probably be stupid and quite on you, or say "move faster", and retarted shit like that. That's what happened with me when I first started.
Another thing to pay close attention to, is the type of game your joining. For the most part, you'll probably see almost everyone playing type 2, but sometimes you'll see constructed, limited, etc. And once again, people will get pist if you join a game and start playing cards that don't fit the game type. Also, look out for gay-ass World of Warcraft games. Although MWS is mainly for MTG, it can used by people for other card games too.
Hope that helped. :thumb:
