MRuby

http://www.mruby.org/

Has anyone used this? It's a project by the creator of Ruby to make a lightweight Ruby implementation to compete with Lua, so it's good for games and light applications.

Seems like a good idea to me! I've been looking for something like this as I prefer the OOP approach of Ruby to the procedural mess of Lua.

I always struggle to actually implement Ruby in anything, the online world seems to treat it like an in-club: if you don't know how, you'll never know. Things might have changed since then, but if this is easy to add to things it'll be great. And yeah, I hated Lua when I had to work with it.

No you're right, implementing Ruby is an absolute bitch.

I'm trying to do it right now, can't get it to even compile.

EDIT: Would be awesome once I've got it running. I'm thinking of using this as a game server scripting system, so RPG Maker clients can connect to a server that's handling their logic through Ruby (Makes server development easier for RM developers).

EDIT2: Finally got it to compile on vs2010, adding Gems support is annoying though (They really want you to use their library systems!) once it's up and running though the whole thing is as simple as Ruby!
