Well, here we go as well. 60 hours will be alot, but I'm sure I can make it if I put myself to it. If I don't make it, Skyrim is to blame duhhh.

The game I want to make, or at least start with, is called Deep Impact. Yes, that sounds a bit dodgy, but it has multiple meanings.
It's all about a sect called the Lem Sect trying to get more power in the world. Fortunately, a comet crashes into earth, hence meaning of the title one. Second, a lot of plot twists are to be expected, which leave an impact as well.

This game was first started by me and another guy known as Ebenavente, a forumer who is no longer active here. I had this idea for as long as the beginning of 2008, and since then wanted to do something with it. Well, we didnt make it back then as we lost contact, but now I'm going to finish it. The start of it that long ago makes me able to share the first bit of real background from the story pretty soon, after I revise it and make the changes I've though of for the last few years.

November 1:
Well, no time to start today. That sucks, getting behind on the first day.

November 2:
Finally started, by making this topic and retrieving my old documents. First revising of the story and it's background is also taking place right now.
EDIT 11-02: Made post in the quick concepts thread, feedback would be appreciated.
EDIT2 11-02: Almost time to call it a day, however I will make some more storysketches in a notebook lying in bed. Made the decision to base the game around the XAS system, as that allows for a great deal of customisation.
EDIT3 11-03: Spend time last night working out some of the details for the story and important events.

November 3:
Did some ground work on the game file, setting up the XAS like I want it. Not done by far with it, though.
EDIT2 11-03: Picked up some mapping again, long time ago I've done that. Combined with Inquisitors enormous set and needed edits, it made me spent another hour on it.

November 4:
Wrote more story and background, my inexperience as writer is showing up. Takes a long time to come up with good things, and then even more time to convert it into nice English. Stupid Dutch...

Interesting premise
I have 2 questions:
How will a comet crashing into earth benefit Lem Sect?
what type of game is it gonna be (as in Rpg, puzzle ect)?
 
Uhm, yes, it will benefit the Lem Sect. A lot.
As in style, it will be a RPG game, benefiting from resources from this forum (lol, I cant draw or script for shit)

EDIT: Forgot to say, but the first draft of the background and story is almost finished. Will be up pretty soon:)

Basically, the system I want in my game is to put (almost) all the combat in the same place. Some background might be usefull;
In my game the entire population of a continent flights to an underground world, to protect itself from the impact of a comet. This world exists of 7 layers, with the lowest one being an enormous maze-like cave system, populated with enemies. The governing body of this underworld place makes sure that the monsters stay exactly where they belong - the 7th layer.
Would it work to dictate all the combat to this place? You would be required to go there to continue in the main story and complete sidequests, but it might be a tad boring to know where the next big boss fight is taking place (although exceptions could be made).
 
Again, update. Spend an hour last night making some sketches for the story and important events, as well as the start of character descriptions. Not written out on PC yet, so I have nothing to show.
Also did some work on the XAS system I plan on using, working out some of the details before I start working in the editor.
