mp3's sound messed up when played in my game. Why?

For some reason, mp3's refuse to play correctly when they're in my game. They sound choppy and overall just unintelligible. I used to have this game on my PC, where the MP3's worked fine. Now, on my laptop, they don't work at all.

Is there a way to fix this problem? The MP3's sound fine when listened to outside of the game. It's just in RMXP.

Do you have the latest RPG Maker XP? The older ones do not have Mp3 support, only the latest one. That is your problem. Try it and then get back to me.

I've had RMXP for a while, so perhaps that's it... How do I get the latest RMXP?

look for Enterbrain and there you should be able to find the maker version 1.02a at least.

If it worked on your pc but not your laptop, then it shouldn't be the program's problem. MP3s stream when played in RMXP, and it is possible that it's a combined result of the high quality of mp3 used and the inferiority of the laptop's functioning. Some extremely high definition mp3s in rmxp games won't play well on my laptop as well.

Hm... you're probably right.
If I don't have to pay for the newer version of RMXP or whatever, I'll still try it out. Is there a link or something to update my copy?

If I have to pay, forget it. 60 bucks was already pushing it to begin with for me

Do you have your purchase code? IF so... you should just re-enter it.

Well, search RPG Maker XP in google, you will find Enterbrain in the top 2. Download the new version in the Downloads section. Install it and then select buy now or something, you will find the selection you need. Click it and re-enter your code. When your code is re-entered it will be like you have already paid, and the game is yours.
