Okies, I don't know if it's touching, but it made me shed a few tears. I'm weird like that. :/

Zidane, Garnet, Steiner and Vivi are on the cargo ship and the Black Waltz knocks all the Black Mages off the ship. Vivi is staring at them as they fall and die. When I was younger, I cried during that scene because I like Vivi and hated it when he was sad...

holy cow i ;_;'d so much

Yes, holy shit, that whole subplot was the best thing in any FF game ever and one of the best things in any video game ever. Holy shit it was so heartwarming and sad and bittersweet. :'( The black mage village was really sad. They were all so short-lived but innocent and happy and didn't understand death, except for the leader. It was so :'(!! It's really too bad the rest of the game just did NOT live up to the awesomeness of the black mage subplot.

@ Ven:
Yes, Alistair is a great character. He's one of the most fully fleshed characters in games I've played. I really thought it was cool how he had to be king but he was just this hapless dude who wasn't really too good at being a leader. I actually didn't really think he was a Mary Sue because he was flawed and insecure. Really good character, though.

the death of the mouse-people was a lot more poignant for me, personally! they were just a bunch of innocent little minorities, just trying to live their little lives and dance their silly little dances, and they got WIPED.THE.FUCK.OUT.

I really liked the little mouse-people in FFIX. They weren't human, yet they weren't all super furry/sexualized like the bunny-people in FFXII. they were just cute and reminded me of the Secret of Nimh.

And then the fat ass bitch queen sent her horseman from the clouds to ruin them all in a big hurricane thing :(

Poor little mousey guys.

Oh yeah, that was really sad too. Man, FF9 actually had a lot of good moments. It is the second best FF after FF6. I wasn't huge on Zidane and Garnet, but at least I didn't want to kill them like Squall/Rinoa and Tidus/Yuna.

The whole damn true ending. Who knew a sudoku could be so emotional?
and
The whole ending, again, yeah, but in particular the scene where Prof. Layton's girlfriend disappears(I saw the first twist coming but there was twist-on-twist action here so it still caught me by surprise) and the one where Luke goes away(even though it was silly anime crying, I still went a bit mushy at "I'M NOT A GENTLEMAN YET whahwhahwhah". :3)

I've never actually cried at a video game, though.
