/thread.

Seriously guys, this was the first game I'd EVER played, and I played it with my brother SO FUCKING MUCH it was so so so so so so so so so so epic, and to this day I can still play it and love every second of it, I even have it on my phone and sometimes play it at work during my long ass breaks, it's just amazing!

This game holds a very special place in my heart, probably because it was my uncle that bought us the Mega Drive and this game, and he's not with us anymore, so y'know... it has a meaning too, lol. I also used to play Goldeneye on the N64 with him whenever I'd sleep 'round at his house (Once a week) and it was just so great, loved that game too, one of the first N64 games I'd played along with Super Mario 64.

YOU PEOPLE ARE WEIRD WITH YOUR WEIRD GAMES
:)
I love how like, all of these I have never heard of before. xD
How old are you? Some of the games I mentioned came out before I was born but I still played them as a child, Doom is actually the first game I ever played.

To be honest though, I need to find a pub full if 30 year old students if I want to discuss my favourite games, my uni colleagues seem to have started gaming after the turn of the millennium whereas I was gaming before I could walk/talk

back when i had my mod chip for the PSX. the good ol days.

Tomb Raider: the last revelation

The old tomb raider games were a lot harder the games made by crystal dynamic. I think the newer games lead the player to much, either someone giving hints or with camera movements that direct your attentions. The graphics and control have gotten better too so you're less likely to miss something or jump at the wrong angle.

Anyways, it's nostalgic because my friend and I played it so many times trying to figure out the puzzles. I can practicably visualize the first couple level layouts and can quote all of Laura and Von Croy lines in the first level. Eventually we discovered cheat codes in one of those booklets they sell on magazine rakes. This was back before any of us had internet to look up walkthroughs, we had this Dos input computer for the longest time with the slowest, loudest, dot matrix printer.

The Original Oregon Trail
If we worked fast enough in computer class we got to spend the rest of the time playing games. Oregon Trail was the only good game, I can't even remember the others. Although I don't think anyone could finish it by the end of class. There was only 1 computer with color, the rest were green or orange. Holy shit, this is what I learn to type on. The Apple IIe *flash back*

The power button is that little notch in the corner that you press down. You can tilt the screen up or down. No mouse. The games were on these giant floppies.

It's all coming back to me....

Speaking of really old PC games. I doubt anybody here would know of it but back at my old elementary school there were very few games on the computers, and one of them I remember really well was called Cross Country Canada.

This sucker came out in like 1991 and when our teacher couldn't think of anything better for us to do, we'd play this. Pretty much the same as any other text input-style game, except for the fact that we were 7 years old and didn't know any of the commands.

I spent all of my time driving around like a moron having no idea where to go. I knew only two commands: "Speed", and the command where you have to pay a ticket when you're caught by the police. Because apparently "Drive" wasn't good enough.

Hell to the yeah. This game is my childhood. Roller Coaster Tycoon is one of those games where i sinked thousands of hours into and is something i still play and enjoy to this day. This game is as tough as balls (which are really tough by the way) but is still one of the most rewarding experiences. There isn't a game to this day that comes any near close to simulating a theme park and is probably one of the best simulation games to this day!
Ive made some really cool shit in RCT. I once made a multi themed park like disneyland with a castle (it had a ride in it too) to some crazy alice and wonderland forest.
I am going to play this right now x;

This.

Also:

Most PSX games like Final Fantasy 9 (best FF ever), Medievil 1&2, Harvest Moon: Back To Nature (also GBA version <3), Resident Evil, Crash, Spyro, TONY HAWK'S PRO SKATER (GIVE ME PC HD VERSION NOOOOW), Silent Hill, Medal Of Honor, Quake 2 Multiplayer on splitscreen with my brother and neighbour, DRIVER, Metal Gear Solid (had to finish it on PC years later, because second CD was scratched :<), Gran Turismo (that endurance races with 99 laps), Syphon Filter, Bugs Bunny & Taz: Time Busters & Lost In Time, Tekken.

Pokemon Blue, Metal Gear Solid (cart broke with time and I was unable to save game progress :<), Driver and DONKEY KONG COUNTRY on GBC. This is also why I have such nickname.

Than came PC - Max Payne, Medal Of Honor Allied Assault, Carmageddon TDR 2000 (censored version with zombies and green blood), AGE OF EMPIRES II, Stronghold.

Fuck you, I'm almost crying now. ;_;

I played the shit out of Commander Keen as a kid, even though that was about five years before I existed. Several other 90's PC games as well, though I can't recall the names of them at the moment.

SMB3, of course, holds a place dear in my heart. LoZ: LttP and Megaman X are on up there as well. Later on came PS1 and Final Fantasy VII, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Gran Turismo, and Rampage.

I developed my own tastes when I got my Gamecube. Metroid Prime and Harvest Moon both took up a good bit of my time in those days, with Mario Kart and NFS not too far behind.

A lot of my PS2 titles I was fond of, but TBQH I jumped onto that boat late and wouldn't call it nostalgic at this point.
