More then one main character

First I'm sorry if this is was already asked but I couldn't find anything related.

My question is: Iit's possible to have more then one main character?

For example, in Warcraft 3, we could play with a different character in some missions and they would keep their level even when we're not playing with them. In my game I'm making several campaigns and I would like to play with different characters and in the final chapters, join all of them but keeping the levels they have gained through the missions. Is it possible?

Yes. All you have to do is make an event that changes the character's graphic for the multiple mains. As for the stats, that would probably require alot of variables... maybe.

That's what I was planing to do. But that will only make my main character level... Unless in the final chapters, where they all should meet, I'll change their initial level to match the main character's level.

Oh yeah, you have to make it so at the end of one campane you fade out (to the credits or whatever) and during the credits or whatever you add the nxt main and remove the first. If you want the player to chose between multiple then you would probably need switches or something.

Er...guys... You are not in need for varaibles for that one.
Just remove the party members you don't need for that part of your game and add the new one, but if you played them before uncheck initialize so they keep their level.

There's nothing like "main character" in RMXP system.
"Main Characters" are something created by the game creator.
You can freely switch charaters whenever you want.

I call main character to the character that you can actually move. You cannot move the party members by yourself, without using commands.

The "main" charater is just the first one of the party. so if you change the party order, the map character changes.
