Not many, but I attribute that more to the lack of kittens in my area than the lack of will.

I really don't see why people are getting so worked up over this. I mean yeah it may appear a bit peculiar! But peculiar things happen EVERY DAY so it's not like this is anything bizarre or unique or worthy of really any attention at all apart from maybe a spot on local Russian news. Politicians kiss babies pretty often and you don't see people shouting LOL MOLESTER GET THAT SICKO OFF THE STREETS so really apart from age how is this any different. The kid seemed pretty honored!
