Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

It got great reviews. Only minor stuff that they could find to complain about. Gamespot were stingy again (8.5) most everywhere else it got 9.0 or above. IGN gave it a 9.5. I'n the smelly UK though so i dont get it until October 26th X.X What are the Americans among us thinking of teh game?

The game is pretty good so far. It controls better than any other FPS out there on consoles. Storywise, it's getting good where I am, and considering I have beaten all the other Metroid games, I'm very excited as to how this one will tie into Super Metroid. The visuals are the best on Wii so far, as it is very clean and the detail in the levels is good. This is one of those games where you wish Wii supported HD because it looks so good.

The problems I have encountered so far is the door lag. Sometimes it takes a really long time to open, and when yo are trying to get away, its not very fun to be getting shot at. Another thing is that the controls for the morphball jumping don't always register on time, and you end up jumping a little after you had done motion. I also feel like I'm getting stuff too quickly, but then again, maybe the game has more new stuff for me to get. A cool feature they brought back was beam stacking. Instead of switching between weapons, the new beam you get retains all the properties of the old beam. I think I'm about halfway through, but the music is great, the visuals are superb, the boss fights are intense and strategic, so everything is spot on so far. I hope it delivers a grand ending to top it all off.

The door lag is the same as Metroid Prime 1 and Metroid Prime 2. To streamline the game, they use doors to hide areas that haven't been loaded up and drawn to the map. When you shoot a door to open it, it has to unload the previous area and load up a new area before the door can begin to open. It's a small price to pay to avoid loading times.

I realized that. Its still annoying to have to wait as much as 10 seconds, but like you said, its a small price to pay. The game is incredible.

This game is fantastic! I absolutely love it :D I'm glad I reserved my copy in advance, I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten a copy if I ddin't o_O

That Meta-Ridely battle was epic :D

i think they screwed up metroid by making it into a FPS.

You do realise that it's not really a fps. It's more a first person action adventure. Even though I wished they'd continue the third person games, I still love Metroid Prime. Too bad it's only coming out on October here in Europe.

I can't really think of 3D metroid working outside of first person...

However, it's about time for another 2D metroid :D

I really like it so far. I'm not very far in it though and yeah it does seem like everything is found way too fast. The door lag is slightly annoying but I understand why so its not that much of a problem. It seems to me though that without the aiming restrictions like in 1 and 2 that the lock-on just doesn't seem necessary anymore.

What did Gamespot have to say about this game? I would like to hear their complaints, lol.
Anywayz I'm loving it, right now I'm trying to get a 100% completion on it.
