1. Now Fave, the main hero of the game has Voice Actor. LOL
Voice Actor : Seokjin Cho
Seokjin Recorded various voice for Fave Wez. We've recorded necessary voices
used in battle (Action Voice,Player Pain Voice). But we're not sure if we will record
english voice for character's scripts.
2. Optimization - The Game will load some graphic effects when game starts.
It saves a lot of cpu since it loads cache in advance and prevent lagging from caching.

New Particle Script has been made and applied. Other RMXP Particle Engines have problem of
disappearing upon a scene change and has only little bit of function. This one is made by me
from inspiration, Which saves particle data so the particle continue to display even after the scene
changes, and have more functions and easier to handle.

The map system I made. It displays the actual map on the brown tone
and symbolized/resized map at the same time. You can scroll through them with arrow keys,
And also, It shows the name of waypoint / teleports. This provides player a good navigation.
It was essential to make one, Since the maps on this game are HUGE.

It also has motion blur, which make the thing look like more 'scrolling'.
But unlike the blur on the game scene, This one has the simple motion blur system made by my own.

It's been a very long time I hold on to this project. I started working in 5 years ago, but I wasn't skilled.
As I got more skills i rebuilt the whole game over and over and it made me took so long time. Well, I'd say
I made about 5~6 rebuilds to reach today. And after that I found the project was quite well made.
But another problem appeared up. It "LOOKED" good, but it was laggy and buggy as HELL. I tried my best
in debug / anti-lag, but I realized that I already driven it mad, and it can't be recovered. So about a month
ago, I decided to build the project again. Vital materials (Story, Maps, Events, Conversations..) will be reused,
But scripts and other event systems will be abandoned, or uploaded for other people to use.

This time, I will not make the same mistake again.

Story
[WIP, let me know if there's any error in grammar.]
in A.D 2500, humans were having problems with their survival. scientists made a lot of advanced science technology to make themselves more comfortable, but now they're having problem because the pollution has gotten very worse. waters were rotting, animals died, plants decay. People protested to scientists to get the earth on the right shape. and some people were afraid of the end of this world. Scientists said that they can solve the issue sooner, but nothing has gotten better even the time has passed. Then suddenly some people come of with "Magic", the power that allows human to do everything without harming the nature, and they said that this "Magic" can replace the Science technology. Everyone laughed, because they never thought it was possible. But... it was actually possible. After 10 years "Magicians" appeared and they demonstrated the "Magic" in front of people. They changed everything without using any kind of tool. Then, the game has reversed. Everyone started to abandon Science and they learned magic.
But then scientists were afraid of losing their wealth and being insulted for their acts. So they decided to strike people first before they get striked. They formed a community called "International Science Union(ISU)" and its own mercenary company, "ISU army(ISUA)". They developed new technology to fight against magic, and sent ISUAs to threaten and wipe out people who uses magic. and they killed people who don't follow them. by this, they harshly criticized for their acts, and magic-believers also formed a community "Empire's Magic Community". At first time, they tried to make conversations and contracts with ISU, to solve the matter peacefully, but ISU refused and continued attack. Then, EMC also made its own army, EMC Army(EMCA). They fight with their will to wipe each other out. It was 'Fight' at first, but after only short while, it become a Worldwide War. World split in two. Everyday lots of people died in war, and Lots of things were destroyed. But the fight does not seem to end in short time. it continued and continued.
Several years passed, Cities and towns were destroyed and people start to feel sick of fighting because they thought they didn't earned anything for their fight, and some of them were insanely homesick. So lots of people give up belonged to either community, and returned to their hometown and became Neutral. They only defended their town and city, and trusted their comrades and friends. By this, the war seemed to be ending soon.

NOTE : The main characters are a little bit Super-Herotic.
Fave Wez
Male, 17 Years Old. Human
Height / Weight : 182cm (6'0"), 75 Kg
Hair / Eye color : Orange / Blue
Class : Magi-Swordsman.
Main Weapon : Mana - Saber, a Unique Sword
Role : Town Defender

The Main hero of this game. He is very confident, and strong boy who protects his village and friends.
He is known famous in his town by his magnificent skills on Magic and Sword since he was a young kid.
Also his stepfather is known famous as EMC committee member.
But He lost his memory of 0~5 years old and he is very suspicious and worried of this.
And this made him unable to recognize Jessica when they met again.
His stepfather said that it' because he had an accident, but he is does not believe it.
and He stated to feel that something potential on him - is making him stronger.
Now he will start his adventure to discover the secret inside him, and bring peace to this world.

Jessica Smith(A.K.A Codename Hellcat)
Female, 17 Years Old. Cat-man
Height / Weight : 178cm (5'10"), 62 Kg
Hair / Eye color : Reddish - Brown / Red
Class : Heavy - Weapons
Main Weapon : Heavy Ordnance - Rocket Launcher, Shotgun, Grenade Launchers.
Role : Colonel of a Mercenary Company. Head of Squadron "GRIM REAPER"

The Main Heroine of the game. She's double-faced. While she is in Mercenary post with his comrades and
disciples or battle, she is very rough and cold-hearted. But She became very temperate and girlish when
She is in front of her lover, Fave Wez. She wants to help Fave retrieve his lost memories, which will make
her and Fave became lover again. Everyone wonder how such a good-looking girl became brutal killing machine,
But it seems she only tell that to few people who is really close to her.
Aside from her looking, she has monstrous strength and incredible recovery ability.
She can even survive from being directly hit by 120 mm cannons. Proves she's the real beast.
* She smokes cigar everyday, and drink vodka. But it seems It doesn't really do something to her health.


John Roosiloop
Male, 130 Years Old (Estimated). Human
Height / Weight : 175cm (5'9"), 52 Kg
Hair / Eye color : Gray / Light Blue
Class : Great Magician
Main Weapon : Magic
Role : Currently None. Former EMC committee member

Stepfather of Fave. He is very kind and gentle old man, but he hides many things about himself and
Fave's past. Also, He was a Great Magician. It means he can rule the whole world with his magic. But
He refuses being famous and hides himself in Forest, living in cabin.

Merlin Wisdom
Female, ?? Years Old. Race Unknown
Height / Weight : 182cm (6'0"), 66 Kg
Hair / Eye color : Blond / Blue
Class : Unknown
Main Weapon : Magic
Role : President of EMC committee

Mysterious woman who serves as President of EMC committee. There isn't much thing known about
her, but it seems she has great skill in magic and many people follows her.

She has a looking of very beautiful young woman.

Commander Jason
Male, 45 Years Old. Human
Height / Weight : 189cm, 92 Kg
Hair / Eye color : Black / Black
Class : Battle Sniper
Main Weapon : SNIPER RAILGUN - Experimental Electromagnetic Weapon
Role : ISUA Commander

Brutal, Heartless commander of ISUA. He would do anything to wipe out EMC, and He has great strategy
and he himself is also a highly-skilled agent. He got his genes modified, and He is stronger and faster than
normal human. Sometimes he does not listen to ISU committee's decision and act on his own.

Zericho Frederic Merchinkov
Male, 67 Years Old, Human
Height / Weight : 187cm, 81 Kg
Hair / Eye color : Gray / Black
Class : Unknown
Main Weapon : Unkown
Role : Emperor

Emperor of "The Empire", But he lost all of his political, economical, military power because the world is split in two.
Currently his state is unknown. Only the fact is, He is alive in somewhere and planning something.
Johns
Male, 17 Years Old, Human
Height / Weight : 171cm, 58 Kg
Hair / Eye color : Dark Green / Blue
Class : Assassin
Main Weapon : Dagger
Role : Intel Hunter / Assassination Agent

A boy who is quite outgoing and arrogant. He likes to drink liquor and smoke cigarettes and meet girls.
But when it comes to stealth / assassinating / Intel hunting, He's the best on his field.
He is friend of Fave, Though he envies Fave for several reasons. His past is unknown, but it seems he's an orphan.
Bryan Mellyps
Male, 17 Years Old, Human
Height / Weight : 165cm, 55 Kg
Hair / Eye color : Light Green / Blue
Class : Magician
Main Weapon : Magic
Role : 1st Magician Student / Intel Hunter / Supporter

Thought Bryan looks small and weak, He is very smart and magnificent at handling magic.
He is the one who helped Fave improve his magic abilities to maximum. He also provides useful Information
for him, and even sometimes support him in battle with his magic.

Ria
Female, 15 Years Old, Elf
Height / Weight : 166cm, 51 Kg
Hair / Eye color : Brown / Brown
Class : Mage
Main Weapon : Staff / Magic
Role : Cafe Keeper / Healer

Ria is very bright girl who runs a cafe at Bermes Town. Her tea is known famous for its taste and
positive effect on health. Also she's from 'dimension' of elf, So she knows a lot of things that humans don't know,
and do what humans can't do. She likes Fave (as a friend, not really a lover), and enjoys talking with him.
Main System (I only write what it completely made. Something more can be added.)
TIME(DAY AND NIGHT, DATE)
Day and night exists in the game, and It will affect the gameplay. Most of all, Screen will darken
in night. In dark, It's harder to identify objects and makes the game moody. Also, Most of the NPCs
will go away in night. Some NPCs will only appear at night. And there DATE. This means
time-limit quests or time-dependent events will be made.

VIOLENCE
There are violent effect in the game. Before the remake, It has a lot of violent methods
such as blood gushing out, blood squirted on ground, and enemies will explode in splatter of blood when they die.
But they made too much lag and very unstable. Now the game only has 'stable' blood decals.

SCREEN EFFECTS
This game has various screen effects, Lightening, Darkening, Motion Blur, Radial Blur and ETC.
They make game look far more richer than those who don't. But all the effects cost some CPU.
Some effects are still experimental and can exist or removed in future.

ADVANCED MAPS
While the game has several HUGE maps, navigating system was very essential.
If the game has a big map and there is no way to find some path, then it's quite awful.
There's two way to inform player. First, HUD will display the location and symbol of
visible, and available NPCs, Enemies, Teleport / Waypoints and ETC.
And Second, There's a Map viewer which will display the whole map with 1:1 scale real map image
and symbolized passability maps. They will display important waypoints and NPCs, or some stores.
This isn't perfect, but still improves the gameplay quite a lot.

ENHANCED PARTICLE ENGINE
PARTICLES. yes. It makes the game look quite cool. But this one is different from what you saw
out there. This thing has more functions, and particle data is saved so they won't disappear even
the scene changes.

ITEM INTEGRITY
Most of the Items, Weapons, and Armor have Integrity and They'll be destroyed if the Integrity reaches 0,
except the weapon. Weapon can still be repaired even if their integrity is 0. But they can't be used in 0-integrity.

ADVANCED SAVE / ACHIEVEMENTS / UNLOCKABLES
This game has a little bit different way to make a savefile. First you need to make a 'profile' which will store
the game's total records, achievements, unlockables, and ETC. Once you made a profile, you can play the game
and save the game. Also you can view something you unlocked in the game at the startup menu.

You can have 10 profiles. 1 at least, 10 maximum. They can also be deleted inside the game.
which means, whenever you feel like playing the whole thing again, just make a new profile and play.
And delete the previous one if you wish so.

Note that you can only load savefiles that you saved in same profile.

Achievement system is done, but I still need to work on unlockables.


HEALTH
Like most of the games, HEALTH is character's health.
It is full at first, but will be depleted upon taking damage or being poisoned and ETC.
reaching 0 wiil result death of a character, and Game is over.
Health recovers as time passes.

PSYCHE
PSYCHE is character's psychological power.
It is full at first like HEALTH but will be consumed
by using skills and magic, or being drained by opponent's skill or ill state.
reaching 0 will make character stunned and leave him/her vulnerable for a while.
Psyche recovers as time passes.

STAMINA
STAMINA is actor's ability point that exhausts upon actions such as attacking, dashing.
STAMINA automatically regenerates and can be recovered by eating food, injecting adrenaline syringe(harmful to health).

Your graphic design is simply amazing! If you incorporated more of the graphic design into the characters and the system, you would have an amazing product here!

Thank you. I'm still working on progress, And you'll be able see better thing afterwards.

But sadly I'm not good at pixel arts, So I'm going to use RTP-Styled Characters and Tilesets.
 
You know, I didn't really look that deep into some of these, but I am a big fan of the blurring you are using. I think it makes the game graphics look better, lol.
 
Man, I haven't seen such a cool project in a while. Keep working hard! Most of us never make it to the finish line. I had to quit working on my game because of school. :(

Wow, thanks. Well, I will finish it for all the cost. Cause This project is a big part of my life.
 
Yeah, we ALL have projects around here that never made it to the final point. Currently, I only have 1 game that is complete, but even that game doesn't have everything that I wanted to include in it. I want to remake it, but I am already working on another game idea - which is fleshing out better than any game I have made (or thought of making) before. Wait...I do have two completed games (original), and then I made HTML5 Pong and HTML5 Brick Break, and HTML5 Asteroids. :) So, I guess it is possible to complete things..haha.

That's a really nice looking UI. Are you mainly using the fantasy/middle period graphics, or will be you implementing some form of more modern style environment, as well as modern ruin?

I'm still mainly using Fantasy , RTP-Styled Graphics for most of the part since
Most of the maps have that theme. But I'm putting up some Modern / Futuristic Material into the game.
Well, It'll be very hard way since I'm going to make some pixel art of Modern War Materials
Such as MBT(Main Battle Tank), Armored Vehicles, Choppers, Gunships. And Also a Tileset of military
base and ETC. There aren't many stuff like this, and I have sketched several unique designs for them
So making them on my own is necessary. Also main heroine of this game use Guns.
I already have Automatic Shotgun, Assault Rifle, Rocket Launchers and Grenades as weapons in my game.
Also I have armored vehicle sprite. (Which is not done yet though)

Well but unfortunately the project is put off far away from completion due to my university entrance exam
this year. Sad T _ T.....

Meh, I actually paused this project for a short moment. There are multiple reasons.

First ... Well you may know i'm working on the new project - Grim Reaper.

Second, It has some problems with optimization again :-( So I'm trying to fix that first.
Thrid, I've been very busy for applying to university. I'm free now, but i was almost out of time for the whole year.

But I actually made pretty much progress compared to when i write this post.

Shame. College is more definitely more important. I know because I'm about to graduate (only 1 year left) and sometimes you simply have to buckle down, be a man, and know that there are definitely more important things to do. I too had a lot of fun working on my now abandoned project, Medina Stories, and that's what counts. :biggrin:
 
Wow cool particle system is it going to be exclusive to your project or you could be willing to share it?

Can't find any particle script that has the blood splatter when hit and would really want something like that in my project.

Well I rarely share my script creation, But I'll think about it. Also I have to make sure script is optimized if I am going to share.

It would be really really helpful in my project.

In my project (Alive) the game is set in black and white apart of the colour red of the blood plus it's a zombie infested game wouldn't mind having some blood splatter here and there would make the combat and feel of the zones more "realistic".

Still up to you if you want to share it or not just stating why I really need something like that :)
