The untoldâ€â€and possibly nonexistentâ€â€story of friendship, destiny, and sacrifice;
the truth behind Sententia's destruction
and the birth of the Memoria Valde.
.::Updates::.
6.19.2008 - Has it really been that lnog since the last update? Oh, snap, sorry! You know, the whole Oregon thing. *coughs nervously* Anyway, I'm back! XD
And I'm digging into that massive pile of drawings I need to do for Memory, which includes all of the summons and animations for battles, a buttload of expression facesets, a couple of bosses and...Whatever else I happen to think of. There's bound to be more. x__x
Here's a little teaser for one of the summons: Click! His name's Havoc and get used to him because if all goes well, you'll be seeing more of him. >3
5.29.2008 - I just added some userbars. I still like my huge siggy banner thing and will continue using that, but I figured we needed something smaller since it's taking up huge amounts of space in other signatures. ^^'
So, on today's agenda...Um...Probably database work. Or I could color that one drawing of Shay...Yesh. Onward? XD
Mini-Update: Changed the title screen! Well, actually, I just took the old one and made it better. Much, much, much better a la ccoa's title screen script. See? Old vs. New. It's definitely better, but...well, I'll leave critique up to you. ^^'
.::Information::.
.::Screenshots::.
Note: The first two screenies are now entirely outdated. Once we get some mapping done with the new Breeze tilesets, I'll update these. ^^'

Alright, I've spent a good hour or two refining this topic to death. Hopefully it's good to go, but if you guys see anything, please let me know. :thumb:

One summer evening, a crash shakes the Rosewood Ranch. Izzy and her brother Kai race to the barn, where they find Shay, a strange young boy, lying unconscious under a gaping hole in the roof.
When he wakes up in the morning, his memory is gone. All he can remember is his name and a strange, distorted message. But, for some reason, he can see glimpses of the future…
It’s one such premonition that drives Shay away from the ranch. Someone is chasing him, and to keep his new friends safe, he runs away. Unfortunately, Shay is the sort of person who attracts trouble and danger, and it follows him throughout his entire adventure. All he knows is that he has to find someone, the one spoken of in that last remaining part of his memory: the Memoria Valde.
You play as Shay and journey throughout the world of Sententia. Along the way, you'll meet other characters, each with their own extensive stories intertwining with Shay's. Goals will become distorted, truths will be revealed, and ties will be tested. Above all, the world will be saved or continue through a cycle of destruction all over again.

Shay is the main character and protagonist of Memory. After crashing through the roof of the Rosewoods' barn, he lost all of his memories, save a few blurry images and his name. He stays with the Rosewoods until a fiery premonition drives him away and into a spiraling adventure. He has a strong sense of responsibility and is very persistent in working towards his goals, whatever they may be. An idealist at heart, he wants to do the best he can in making the world a better place.
Class: Swordsman
Skills: Physical Attack Skills, Foresight
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v655/my_dragon/izzybutton.png[/img]
The heroine of Memory. Izzy is a strong-willed girl and a big dreamer. She wanted nothing more than to explore the world, and she got her wish when Shay came crashing through her barn's roof. In part from her ranch-upbringing, Izzy is a hard worker and isn't afraid to try new things and get her hands dirty. Her impulsiveness and optimism sometimes leads to chaotic situations, but she always means well.
Class: Cleric
Skills: Physical Attack Skills, Light Magic, Healing
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v655/my_dragon/harubutton.png[/img]
A young wizard and owner of the magic shop in Basin. He joins the party, rather unwillingly at first, when Shay decides to hide in Haru's store, resulting in them both getting caught. Haru is nothing short of a genius and loves nothing more than showing it, although his social skills are somewhat lacking. He doesn't talk much about his past...Is there something he really doesn't want to talk about?
Class: Wizard
Skills: Magic, Hacking
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v655/my_dragon/mosesbutton-1.png[/img]
The oldest member of the group, often referred to as 'a great, big, cuddly meat-shield.' He defended Shay, Izzy, and Haru from enemy attack by sheer intimidation alone. Despite his height and gruff exterior, Moses is a soft-hearted man, the guiding force behind the party, and a mystery. He talks little about himself, leading the rest of the party into making fantastic and ridiculous conclusions about Moses's true identity. His talents lie in art, which more than makes up for his terrible cooking.
Class: Artist
Skills: Art Skills, Summoning
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v655/my_dragon/abbybutton.png[/img]
A fierce woman who somehow knows all about Shay and his past, and for some reason wants to kidnap him! She employs a range of firearms, specializing in handguns. Abigail has a hard, no-nonsense attitude, little-to-no patience, and a very sensitive trigger finger. As such, she prefers to shoot first and ask questions later. Much, much later.
Class: Gunner
Skills: Long-Range Skills, Explosives
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v655/my_dragon/ammonbutton-1.png[/img]
Ammon is part of a legendary tribe who have lived for millennia on the edges of the Abyss, undiscovered and isolated. It was Ammon's blunder that allowed the party into the forgotten village. To correct the problem--or to get Ammon out of their hair--the village's council sent him off with the party. Ammon is a habitual klutz, impossible to faze, and utterly naïve, and still one of the greatest guys one could ever meet.
Class: Time Guardian
Skills: Time Skills, Spear Attacks

Camping System - Complete with side-quests, character 'skits,' cooking, and specialized battle training.
Cooking - Depending on who cooks, the party will be affected. Note: If it's Moses's turn to cook, trade jobs with him. o__o'
Skits - Similar to the Tales Series', these skits are optional and are meant to build character relationships.
Battle Training - Train for battle with bonus experience against monsters or your allies!
Roughing it - When you're far from an inn, the best way to recover HP is to pitch a tent. Upgrade camping equipment to recover more HP and SP.
Party Shopping - New Town? Not sure where to shop or what to buy? In Memory, you can let your party members do the shopping for you by giving them money and sending them out. Unless you tell them what to buy, they'll just buy whatever catches their eye. Sometimes they'll buy extremely rare, never before seen items, while other times it'll just be a common potion. Good luck!
Password Bonuses - When players give certain passwords to a certain NPC, it changes some small game mechanics, such as playing a different song doing the final boss battle, giving you awesome equipment, changing sprites, etc.
RTAB System - Cogwheel's RTAB system geared for turn-based battles with a timed twist.
An estimated 10+ hours of gameplay in the full game. (The demo will have significantly less, sorry. XD)
A deep character and story driven storyline, written by me, and commandeered by the cast.

It's this one phrase, shown in the intro of Memory, that summarizes the story more than anything.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v655/ ... eenie4.png[/img]
Memory uses a camping system, in which you can do small side-quests and chat with the other party members.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v655/ ... eenie7.png[/img]
A short narrative introduction at the very beginning, freshly evented! I'm really proud of how it turned out. >3
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v655/ ... nie6-1.png[/img]
A revamped title screen using ccoa's three-image title script. It's sooo much better than the original. XD
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v655/ ... eenie5.png[/img]
Um...yes...More of the aforementioned introduction. XD

Really, I need some good help on this game, because I really want to finish it for my characters' sake, at least. XD
A lot of things I could do by myself in the worst case scenario, but doing mapping, spriting, script refining, and everything is really hindering the one part of this project I really want to focus on myself. (I'm a writer at heart, not a mapper/sprite artist/scripter. That job is reserved for awesome people who can own me any day of the week, except maybe Saturday.)
Also, keep in mind that even if a job is taken, you can still volunteer for it. Heavens knows we need all the help we can get. XD
.::Help Needed::.
In exchange, I'd be happy to help with your own projects. I specialize in writing or I can do (X)HTML and CSS for website building. Just keep in mind that Memory is always my first priority. ^^

.::Help Needed::.
- Sprite Artist - Job Taken! - Someone who can sprite all six main characters in the Breeze style well, at the very least. Also, if anyone feels so inspired, I would also like the characters in different poses, like unconscious, looking from side to side, winking, etc. Not required, but definitely a plus if you can do it! ^_^
- Mapper - Job Taken! - With some disdain, this is a job I could do, but mapping makes me want to throw tilesets at people's faces. =D Being experienced at using the Breeze style is a plus!
- Database Calibrator - Also a job I could do, but I suck at it severely. I make monsters way too powerful. XD
- Script Refiner/Writer - This will probably be the job that requires the least amount of work, since I really don't need much. Just be on hand when...oh...something blows up from improper RGSS use. =D
- Musician - I've heard some really incredible original music compositions in other games and if anyone wants to make some music for Memory, that would be awesome! There are a wide array of scenes that need all sorts of different tones, so be prepared! There is one unfinished original song for Memory that I would like some help with if possible, at least. If I had half an ounce of musical talent, I could finish it...;-;
- Anything Else - If you want to volunteer to work on anything, I will be extremely grateful, even if you just volunteer to cheer for the team. ^^

If all things go well, I estimate that a demo will be out sometime in late summer, possibly August. The demo will include two and a half dungeons, three bosses, a sudden genre mix, and way more questions than answers for the heroes. Of course. >=3
