Believe it or not, the full confusing story is about 70% complete, thanks to long car rides and days staying up till 1:00.
A story of redemption, lost love, and the resistance of impending doom.
Anyway, the abridged background story:
There one was a king who had two sons. There was also an ambitiously evil wizard who had a great influence on the younger son named Malik. The younger son, named Thorin, was jealous of the older one because the older one was to inherit the throne. When the king died, the older son(Iken) inherited the throne, and the younger son tried to assassinate him, but failed. Actually what happened was that on the night of the "assassination", the elder prince was sleeping in his bed. Thorin held a dagger to cut the necklace from his brother's neck(brainwashed by Malik, who told Thorin the real story of the necklace being the key to unlocking an artifact to call a demon) Iken woke up, and saw Thorin draped over him, with a dagger in his hands. The new king was advised to kill his brother, but he was too kindhearted, so he exiled Thorin to a faraway land (Northern Reaches), never to come back. Thorin went to the Northern Reaches, clutching the hidden key in his hands. He came back as leader of the Bandits and Rogues who were enemies to the king. There was a great battle in the favor of the Bandit King, but internal affairs caused a stalemate.
The Artifact/ Artifact Key
The Artifact Key was used to unlock the Artifact made by the Ancients, which granted enormous power. The artifact key was something passed down from King to Prince, when the Prince was to be King. Through generations, the real use of the key was forgotten(except for some special cases, like Malik), and the Artifact stored away in the castle. The key was still passed on in the form of a jeweled necklace, and it was rule that a King must wear it wherever they go. The King, knowing that he was about to step down, gave the Key to his Eldest prince, who also wore it wherever he went, even to bed. The reason the Artifact did not leave the Castle was because it was bound by magic, but the key was not. Only one with royal blood can use the artifact, ie. The Bandit King, whose name was Thorin. This would explain why Malik, the wizard who "brainwashed" Thorin did not try to use the artifact himself. The artifact was used to summon a demon of considerable power into the human world, under the power of the summoner. When Thorin took the key from his brother, their tussle with each other caused the key to break into two pieces. The ancients' magic was very strong, so the key-necklace still worked when put together.
Iken's sons
During the time Thorin was exiled to the time he came back (~10 years), the king had two sons(who grew to the age of 5 and 4 1/2). One of them was kidnapped while roaming freely outside by bandit scouts sent by Thorin to see the power of Hywer. After questioning, Thorin realized that the boy was the younger son of his brother. Instead of killing the boy, Thorin took him in as his apprentice because they shared same life stories, and treated the boy as his own son.
Battle for Hywer
It was rumored that the Bandit King was looking not only for revenge against his brother, but he was looking for the artifact left behind by the Ancients. Before Thorin attacked Hywer, he gave a piece of the key-necklace to his apprentice, for some unknown reason. Apparently, the artifact was found, but the tool used to control the artifact was lost because Thorin's apprentice was whisked away.
Linmer the Wizard hahaha its merlin, only switched :O This dude had and will have a huge impact on the story O.o
Linmer once was an adventurer and an explorer. He grew tired of that and wanted to settle down. He went to a little town and married a woman whom he loved very much. They had a child, but Linmer was called to Hywer castle by Iken, who saw the impending battle with Thorin. Not much about his family is known, but his wife dies. At Hywer Castle, he dreamed about seeing his child and going back to his beloved town. He made his way up the Wizardry stairs and got himself a place in a top notch wizard tower. The tower was once owned by the deceased wizard Malik, RIP. While cleaning up, Linmer found a journal in a secret compartment in the wall that was once owned and written in by Malik. The Journal tells of how Malik needed Thorin to unlock the Artifact(noble blood) so he can use its power. The journal also had details of how the artifact worked, and how to use the artifact key. Linmer was about to show Iken this discovery, and how it should never be put in the wrong hands, when the castle alarm horns sounded! The battle had begun!
Linmer began to up his teleportation magic and prepared to run away from the battle and take the journal with him. Before reading this, scroll down to Teleportation Magic. The first time Linmer used teleportation magic, Thorin and his apprentice barged in. Linmer used a binding spell on the two, but it missed the apprentice. Thorin's apprentice got in the way of the teleportation magic and was transported away. Next, when Linmer cast the magic again, the prince barged in(explained in the in-game cutscene) and was hit by the spell.
The third and final time, Linmer cast the spell, succeed and was whisked away. Thorin's plan did not work because his apprentice held the other half of his necklace.
Teleportation Magic
Teleportation Magic is very advanced magic, and it it works by having the caster cast the magic at a mirror, which repels and modifies the magic back to the caster, sending him away.
It works differently than other spells too.
The first time one uses it, it consumes all of their mana
The second time one uses it, life force is consumed and the caster only travels half the distance of the proposed distance
The third and final time it is used, the caster's magic level will be severely downgraded. permanently. The caster is transported to 1/4 of the distanced proposed.
The fourth time it is used, the caster will just die.
Malik's Journal
This journal was made by the Ancients(another example of an extraordinary artifact). Its pages can be torn out of the journal and scattered, but the pages themselves, when torn, will assemble together magically. More problems for linmer later on
Thorin and his apprentice, bonds between the two
It is thought that Thorin gave his apprentice the other half of the necklace because he wanted them both to share the power of the artifact when unlocking it.
The actual game begins with Jack, Cite, and Farra(you will get to rename them in the next release). They cause their hometown to be hopelessly destroyed by Bandits and they go on a journey to seek revenge on what was wrong, recover what they had, and remember what was lost.
The plot will include unexpected twists and much action; so much, that it cannot be contained in this little box.
and yes... the story will somewhat focus around a "thread" -.-
darn it... maybe gave too much away... if you know the plot, plz do not say anything about it lol. if there is any mistakes or hypocritical statements, plz express them.

The game takes place in a colorful medieval world. Humans will be the major Race, with lessers, such as elves, dwarfs, and more...
The story is split into chapters.
Each actor has a predetermined Job, but as they level, they may choose their own Classes
I found Turn Based Battles slow, boring, and repetitive, so I chose an Active Battle System, so battles will be quicker, more fun, and use more strategy. The ABS will have skills that heal, do AOE Damage, buffs, etc...

Jack
A lazy and stubborn boy who likes to daydream about saving the world. He likes to eat, but always stays slim. Quick to make hasty decisions, but they fail him often. He is calm, smart, and attentive, and is not easily ticked off. When he is angry, however, unfortunate events always happen...
Job: Mage
Cite
Quiet, but not really shy. Hit his head and can't seem to remember anything that happened to him before. It is only when strange things occur to him, that he takes action and tries to learn about his past. He always tries to be good, because he feels something was wrong about him in his past. His goodness often leads to dispair.
Job: Fighter
Farra
The female character. She is sparky and outgoing, and easily provoked into a dispute. She tries to protect her friends as best as she can, because she does not want to lose them. This might be because her father left when she was very young because he was forced to fight. She is also very curious at everything and will follow something to no end until the problem is solved.
