Story

The game Mass Effect Chronicles is a fan-game based on Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 ( © Bioware / EA Games ). The story revolves around three main characters; a Turian, an Asari, and a Salarian.
The lives of millions were changed from the Reaper attack on the Citadel, and Commander Shepard of the human race is now missing in action. A new power is rising on the Citadel that could impact the alliances made between several of the species recognized on a galactic scale. How this new power impacts these alliances will inevitably be up to three individuals.

You will take charge of a vessel, gather a team of elite soldiers, tacticians, scientists, and more. Explore the vast galaxy and its many planets. Mine asteroids and mineral deposits. Fight a multitude of enemies. And determine the fate of peace in the galaxy.

Characters
We have been revealing characters on our website slowly, and many of the characters simply will not be revealed until the game has been released. With that said, I'll go ahead and list a few characters.

-Vazill : After the obligatory service in the turian military, Vazill had opted to continue working in the military. He's a versatile expert when it comes to weapons. Because of his personality he works best alone or in small teams. Over the years he had often worked with Morwin, a tech-expert with biotic skills, and during that time has established a friendship with him despite their contrasting personalities.
Vazill certainly is a fighter to the core, but lacks the ability to lead - and on occasion has an unwillingness to be led. However, it would be fatal to consider him merely a mindless fighting machine, given the circumstances he displays a talent for improvisation as well; admittedly those improvisations often include the use of explosives, but they get the job done.

-Morwin (Turian) : At the age of 43 Morwin is a highy respected Sentinel in the Turian
military. His intellect, technical skills and keen eye make him a powerful
ally in any situation.

-Avina : Avina, while not part of your team, acts as a virtual dictionary or information booth.

I understand this isn't much information for Characters... but I'll definitely update it as we reveal more characters.

Yea, sorry for how vague it is at the moment... the story itself is 32 pages long, and it's strictly just for the team (for the time being). I may make certain exceptions to reveal more of the story later on, but yes, it will be consistent with the books as well. One of my biggest aspirations for this project is to make sure that we are accurate in everything we do.)

I'll be discussing a few things with the writing department and see if we can come up with a more informative summary that won't reveal too much at once.

Also, thanks for the feedback guys. If anyone's interested in helping out with this project, just let me know. We really need a few more spriters and tileset artists. Someone with scripting knowledge would also be helpful.

Wonderful. The Mass Effect universe is absolutely amazing. I wish I would've found this project about a year ago; I would've offered to write for you.

I wish good luck to you and the rest of the team. I would absolutely love to see this project come to fruition.

The only grievance I have is the battle system. It wouldn't be hard to implement an ABS similar to Mass Effect, but it seems that the game is already pretty rooted in the turn-based, front-view system.

Everything in this game will eventually be 100% unique (from the tilesets, sprites, and pictures to the music and sounds.)
However, at this current moment, we are using a few of the original RTP resources and miscellaneous tiles I had stockpiled long ago. (No idea where they came from or who made them.) The screenshots below are anywhere from 100% unique to 80% unique.
Hold on your horses, boy, that is one AMBITIOUS thing to do.

Not saying you shouldn't do it, but please make sure you can do it, many have tried but failed.

But if you have a dedicated team, go on ahead!

However, its a pity such effort is put into a fangame, but let that not stop you, at least for you anyways.
It would be more worthwhile to make it an original game.

( Also, do all the turians look like that? O.O )

But the rest looks good.

Ambitious...yes. I'm aware that most RMXP games don't get finished, but I also don't think most projects have a team of 9 or more.

I don't think it's a waste for this to be a fangame, but I do understand what you're saying. Maybe after this project is complete, our team will go on to create an original game. (Most likely space themed) Even though it is incredibly tempting to go on and make a game based on Star Trek :P .

I'm not sure what you mean with the Turians. Are you talking about the face-set or the battlers? I could provide more examples if you would like.

What I mean is that why do all of them have the same face shapes and poses?

Also its hard to manage a team of 9 or more, let alone 5.

Yes, they will have the same basic face shape. As for leading a team, its definitely not easy, but thankfully, we are all huge fans of Mass Effect and have the common goal of making the best fangame possible with each of our abilities. But yea, not easy.

This might be kind of a stupid comment, but I'm going to throw it out there anyway. In the status window, you abbreviated Attack to ATK, but the other three stats are not abbreviated. Just a tiny little inconsistency. Little things like this are easy to miss, and easier to overlook, but, you know, it's the little things, right?

Best of luck on the ambitious project. Keep at it, that's all I can say.

Hey SPN, I appreciate your feedback on that! And I'll correct that immediately. You're absolutely right, I didn't even notice it.

Sorry for the double post... but I just wanted to let everyone know that I've updated this topic with new screenshots, news, etc...

Feedback appreciated!

I am interested in the battle system, converting a primarily action oriented battle system into a turn based one just doesnt seem like the pacing will be kept. I am surprised that you didn't use an ABS instead, it seems to me that you could keep most of the pacing that the normal games use.

But it looks like it could be well worth the effort in the long run.
