Map mockup

Just testing with some painted maps in photoshop,

The outlines annoy me - they seem broken, especially the lower-left edge which moves all over the place, and the tops of the walls (some have a black outline while others don't).

Also, the bookcase is on top of the pillar ;)

Other than that it's pleasing to the eye and I could play a game with those graphics, which is the main thing.

being painted is very cool, i esp. like what you did with the reflection effects on the floor. (though why would dusty-looking floorboards be reflective? oh well :P) the problem though is that it is sloppy in places. particularly apparent on the shelf. it's ok to have imperfect lines but the shelf's lines are just all over the place. It also is overlapping the column a little, making it look like it's floating (that can be fixed just by moving the sucker down a little though).

It also seems to have sharpness that's all over the place. The stone is particularly sharp, but the shelf and some of the wood is too soft in comparison.

The texture is beautiful, though.

i like the change of scenery here. as long as you can find a character sprite type that fits nicely. i mean, it's pastelly and i like it, but the wrong element could ruin it completely. My advice- tread carefully when you do anything more with it (tread carefully, as opposed to do nothing. i would love to see more of this!)
