Making an event have a priority

I've made some sprites that I want to appear when a switch is activated.  These sprites will appear on a table, but to be on top of the table, the event somehow has to have a priority of 1.  The only option I can think of is to have it on "always on top", but my character's head is covered by the sprite.  How can I make this work?

Any help will be appreciated.

Solution: Modify the tileset and add the sprites to it.  Use tileset as the spriteset in the event.

Sorry for making this post.

Unfortunately there isn't an easy way around this, except putting both the event and the player on "Always on Top" (you'll have to have tiles around that turn it off too). Another method is putting the sprites in the tileset itself, and using those graphics (after setting priorities in the database). Those are the only two I can think of for now, hopefully they'll help.

You should also be able to use a 256x128 spritesheet, and put your graphics in the upper part of a 64x32 section (which corresponds to two tiles). It will be considered at level 1, just like the upper half of any character. You will need to put the event one tile below the desired graphics position and mark the "through" option.
