Making a "3D" game in RMXP?

Hi, HBgames!

I saw a vid on YouTube that by using a script, you can make 3D graphics in your RMXP game/project(s). It was cold Mode 7 or something like that.
How do I make a "3D" game and WHICH script(s) do I need?

Ps: I am NOT thinking of rendering the game into 3D, I just want to make a 3D feeling (false 3D) that you can make with Mode 7. /Thank You!

First of all, Mode7 is not 3D, but an alternative 2D drawing mode. You might say that is being picky, however it's actually really important, as you won't need a 3D render engine, which saves you a lot of messing.
If Mode7 is what you're looking for, just raid the Scripts forums for these... I know that Me (the user) did one, however there's been a newer one that's supposedly better. Personally, I never used any of these, so no in-depth information from me on these, however, as for your question on what you need: A script or two is usually enough - like I said, no additional renderer required.

For the sake of completeness, let me mention the other kind of fake 3D with 2D render engines, being 2.5D - aka the rendering method Doom, Wolfenstein and Duke Nukem 3D (and of course a few others) were using. There are some projects out there to do this with RMXP (I don't think VX), but I'm not aware of any completed one, in these forums or anywhere else. Again though, no specific interest on my end, so I can't guarantee for the correctness of that info.

Last but nout least, there'd be the "real" 3D rendering scripts, like the one Demonfire was making at some point. It's using models, cameras and lighting, just like you'd expect it from your everyday modelling programs. I'm not sure if he finished it, but the thread is somewhere in Script forums.

Thank You! I'll just searcht he script.

But some info how it works would be good, how can it look "3D"? Becasue UP is FORWARD in the "3D" mode right?

I am using it right now. But how shall I do to avoid the maps being flattened like right now? Do I have to make special character(s) and tileset(s) sprites?

If you're talking about Mode7 now, then your questions are rather confusing... it "looks 3D" because the map is projected differently: Top tile pixel rows are displayed more narrow, lower ones wider, creating the effect of large, planet-like areas (as it looks as if it'd be projected on a cylinder), which is why it used to be very popular for world maps (however has been very successfully used for other 3D appliances, such as the topdown maps in Contra 3).
As for movement, nothing changes: You still move up, down, left, right, whereever... it's really just the projection of the surroundings that change.

As for maps being flattened, they really aren't: Maps are flat from the begin with, what you have to do is assign special whatever to the respective events - you should find instructions on that in the thread you got the script from.
