Main character help

Remember back in Chrono Trigger, when your other two characters would follow you around, and it was always fantastic, and everyone loved it?  How do I do that?  And if that isn't possible without pulling an all-nighter, how do I make it so that my characters seem to walk out of my main character?  How, I ask you, HOW?

I think the first part is referring to the caterpillar effect.  If you're using VX, then this script hasn't been created yet.  If you're using XP, then you should check the script lists.

As for creating an effect where a character comes out of the player:
*Create an event with "Through" activated.
*When you want it to happen, set the event location to where the player will be standing.
*Change the graphic of the event.
*Make the event walk out of the player.

I hope that's what you're looking for.

Guardian, to elaborate on that, you can just make Player X and Y variables and make the event appear there, so you don't have to work out where you will be stood :thumb:
Yeah, you're right.  I don't use the X and Y variables much, so I usually don't think of them.

Awesome Bro

It can't really be done with events unless it's only one person following you, and if that IS the case you could simply make a move route of step towards player or whatever it's called, and turn Through ON (Not sure it's same on VX as it is on XP) and then that will be the most basic caterpillar I can think of.

Go to the "Script Editor" by clicking on the page with a pencil icon (next to Sound Test). On the left side, scroll down to where it says "Main". Right-click it, and select "Insert." Type up a name for it, and in the big blank space to the right, copy the script in.

If you're using VX, the layout might be a bit different. More instructions can be found in the script topic.
