Lucid Dreaming

Jason

Awesome Bro

I don't get why people don't like Nightmares, I've never had a Lucid Dream, don't know how to, but it wouldn't be fun, I mean, if you know whats gonna happen in your dream, it's boring, why not let it be random as hell ?

I actually like nightmares cause I'm a fan of horror/thriller movies, and cause they help me wake up early, lol.

But seriously, being able to control what happens in your dream would suck, unless of course, you're perverted...

HAH !

i guese thats true but if i lucid dream i try to make it as scary as possible-i wan't to scare myself shitless

Just sit in the living room on your own, from 11pm till 6am with the only light coming from the TV and open the window a little to let some wind in to make you shiver, and open a door a little to let it squeek from the wind, and watch a series of horror movies, then go to bed and see how you do,

didn't work.

I've never lucid dreamed because on the rare occasion I dream about myself I never conciously think through my actions. It really does suck. :l

When I was young, about eight years old, I had a really cool lucid dream. In it, the kids were at war with the adults. I don't know why, but we were.

In my dream, there were three "battles" that I was in. The first was in Windsor and Detroit, and the kids were in Windsor fighting across the Detroit River against the adults on the other side. Don't remember too much here. The second battle was in England and that's all I remember. The third (and I remember this specifically) was in St. John's, Newfoundland. I don't know why. But I was sitting in a cafe in the morning with a friend of mine, by a pier, when suddenly, a bunch of adults crashed through the window. I along with a bunch of other kids ran outside and onto a pier. There was a bunch of shooting, and I specifically remember everything having a red tint. I run out onto a dock with cement everywhere, and hide behind a pillar with my gun. When I look around to see if anybody is there, an adult appears and shoots me square in the forehead. I specifically remember a sharp pain in my head and everything going red and me falling down. Then I woke back.

Craaaazy stuff. Especially considering how friggin' violent it was. I was never a very violent person, and this dream remains to this day the only one I've had with guns in it. And I specifially remember being in almost complete control the whole time. Except, you know, when I travelled halfway around the world in a split second.

Also, random question: Does anybody else's dreams sometimes have...titles? I'm dead serious. I actually remember one or two of my dreams having a title. As in, a black screen with white words on it that fade away, and then the dream starts.

Reminds me a lot of a Cartoon Network show that debuted when I was started to not like their new shows, hence I didn't like it. Called, Codename Kids Next Door.

Yeah, it reminds me a lot of that, too, when I think about it, except this dream was before I even knew about the show. They stole my idea, I'm tellin' you! Stole it!

I know a girl who says she bought this stone from a Flea Market which is supposed to help induce lucid dreams. She claims it works. I think it's more psychological. You can prepare yourself mentally to have a lucid dream if you have the psychological willpower. Works the same way as shutting out negative thoughts as a kid to revoke nightmares.

honestly, I think I have an answer for you. My friend was keeping a dream journal and that made him get lot's of lucid dreams. As a matter of fact he even had an out of body experience! Alot of times I forget my dreams after I wake up, but after I started keeping track in a journal I became a lot better at remembering! If you keep it up you'll start to get lucid dreams. I've had quite afew in my life. Just try jotting down your dream when you get to school or work everyday; it doesn't take much time.

I never had a lucid dream. ( well, as long as I can remember )

But the weirdest dream is me carrying a pistol that looks like Doom with the graphics like Doom, and some dragon monster happily goes across the room,
I almost had a heart attack, I am freaked out by that smiling creepy dragon, after that, I immediately woke up and my father woke up too. I also had a nightmare before that, woke up, slept, and I had this nightmare, oh my goodness.
I was like at kindergarten...

A "Lucid Dream" is a dream where you know you're dreaming, and can control actions. For example, you might think "hey I'm dreaming" and go off and fly to the moon~

Wow, that's awesome! I wanna try out Lucid dreaming, are there any ways you can sleep to have A Lucid Dream? cause If I did, I'd do anything in my Dreamland, I'll give myself Magical powers! :fap:

I've never "tried" but apparently:

- Keep looking at your watch, if the time is nonsense or changes after looking at it, you are dreaming (i.e. use this as a way of telling yourself you are dreaming)
- Imagine something like... a giant pink rabbit. Keep imagining it all day and don't go to sleep for ages. When you do fall asleep if the pink rabbit becomes real you know you're dreaming ;)

Someone once posted a guide involving playing piano in the air or something, I don't remember. The thread might still be here even.

I have them all the time, and I had a couple of episodes of sleep paralysis because of them. I'm not entirely sure that I had the paralysis because of the lucid dreams but I remember in both cases that I was bored of the dream and I wanted to wake up. So I did, but the rest of my body was a minute behind. Scariest thing ever; I thought I had died! I personally would rather deal with not being able to control your dreams than to wake up and find yourself unable to move.

I don't do anything special to have lucid dreams. When I was a little kid I didn't have them at all, but as I'm getting older if I can remember the dream it's usually because it's lucid. I don't know. I also notice that I don't really have nightmares anymore either. I'm a very light sleeper, maybe that has something to do with it.

honestly, ive looked into this in one of my "google random shit while bored" research periods, and I've noticed that one of the more agreed on (not unanimously, though... but this could be applied to most of these other explanations if you think about it) theories is that the repetitive thought over an extended period of time (such as while you are falling asleep) of a lucid dream can in itself cause a lucid dream to happen more often. Statistically speaking, this does work, but it's harder to verify this with solid facts based on its lack of physical evidence (and other factors, obviously). But it is one of the more widely accepted theories on lucid dreaming.

And in several of these posts - there is mention of some form of thinking about lucid dreams / remembering your dreams / finding out if you are dreaming in general that spark these...

PS. I have lucid dreams roughly once a week... and I do all sorts of stuff in them... but a lot of times they are just slightly unrealistic... I know too well the physics and whatnot of how things actually work to be able to consciously conflict this in a dream.

PPS. Erotic dreams are better when you control everything >.>
