Lucid Dreaming

I was wondering if anybody had any experience with lucid dreaming. What have you done (or what would you do) in a lucid dream? For those that don't know, lucid dreams are those in which you are conscious enough to understand that you're dreaming, without waking up. It's possible to control what happens in a lucid dream, and you'll feel it like anything else that happens in a dream.

Are there any ways to induce them? Are hallucinogens a lot like lucid dreams? What do they mean to us all, individually?

Funny you bring this up, as I had a lucid dream this morning. I had a dream that I was Cole from the new upcoming game inFamous for the PS3. But, the weird thing was, I knew the explosion was coming, we saw the big electrical explosion, it overtook the city and engulfed me, but when I came to, I had no powers, or at least, I couldn't figure out how to use them. I kept trying to find the instruction manual, but it was never legible on any page. There were people all around me talking about 'OH MAN YOU HAVE POWERS THAT'S AMAZING, LET ME SEE YOU DO SOMETHING' and I was getting all pissed off.

I usually become aware that I'm dreaming when I start float walking like I'm on the moon or I'll jump and see how far I can glide down a hallway.

If I don't wake up at that point I'll switch dreams and forget I'm dreaming again.

I don't have control over what I'm dreaming about but I'll be able to hit rewind and redo things. Sometimes I'll be able see things vividly that I wouldn't be able to imagine when I'm awake like a composition of a painting or I'll have fun picturing perverted things :fap:

When I have lucid dreams, I do the simplest things. A long time ago, I had one where I had a juicebox, finished, wanted another one so I was like "Hey, this is a dream" and poof, I had another one XD

The coolest things I've done is when I used to have nightmares a lot, the second time I had the nightmare I knew what was coming so I would solve the problem XD

Most of my dreams aren't a lucid dream

Just a few time. The last Lucid Dream that I could remember is, I was walking to return a book to the library. But I forgot it in my car! (Which parks away so far). Then I (intentionally) summon the book into my hand, because I'm lazy.

Heh, stopping a nightmare reminds me of once when I was having lots of nightmares that unfortunately, the first thing I lucidly think of is the cause of the nightmare. Interestingly enough, though, I started playing with the dream's inner workings, since one facet of that nightmare is that I can't scream for help because the words dry up in my throat, I played around with that, feeling it dry up, saying it other ways and laughing about it. Weird.

I've tried a bunch of different excercises to lucid dream, but have never been able to...
I heard that the trick is to think of something you are going to see in your dream, and say something like "When I see my hands, I will realize I am dreaming" repeat it over and over until you fall asleep, and than, whamo! When you see your hands in your dreams, you will be able to take over...
Never worked for me...
I've been trying to lucid dream sense I was like 13, guess it's just not going to happen.
The only good (and a bit strange) thing that came from me attempting to dream lucidly, is that I no longer have nightmares. Usually when a dream goes bad, I some how subconciously "Switch channels"
Not sure if I just grew out of nightmares, or if it really does have something to do with me attempting to lucid dream, but it is definatly odd they both seemed to happen around the same time...

Maybe you are controlling your dreams to some extent, just not consciously? It's possible. I haven't had any nightmares for a long time, either, but that might just be because I've given up on being serious. No one takes me seriously when I'm being serious...

No wayyy. I had my second lucid dream two nights ago.

All i could remember is my friend telling me things about what to do when you lucid (he basicly can lucid dream whenever he wants its insane)

But he told me to plug my nose and close my mouth and try to breath, once you do that, and notice you CAN breath, that brakes a mental chain that holds you to the thought of not realizing your dreaming.

So I did this, and i could breath, freaked out a little bit. And remeber my friend telling me you can do anything you want, you wanna fly, all you do is fly, itll come to you in a dream its confusing.

So i was in a long hallway, like hotel or somthing, and i tryed to fly, and what happend was (hard to explain) basicly the heels
of my feet stayed on the ground, and my body flew foward standing straight up, kinda like running super speed
but without the leg movments.

Then after freaking out some more, I decided to run around and do crazy things. poofed into a room or somthing, talked to someone about somthing, and then woke up.

:( I i tryed so hard to go back to sleep. haha.

Well Lucid Dreaming, in a nut shell: You can control your dreams, sometimes you realize your dreaming by yourself, sometimes
you kinda know your dreaming, and when that happens you do the plug your nose trick.

There are many other tricks people do, some are weird.
But one good one, is drawing an "D" on your hand (stands for dreaming), and when your dreaming when you spot your hand and see the "D"
you know it stands for dreaming, and thats when you do the plug your nose trick, or another trick.

Dont get me wrong, its not easy to make yourself have a lucid. It takes practice. (no matter how weird that sounds)

Just some useless info:
People mostly have Lucid dreams, when they enter RIM sleep to fast.
Lets say your VERY tired, poped a couple sleeping pills, and ran five miles, and the second you hit the bed, your out.
that could trigger a lucid easily.
Another trick to make yourself have lucid dreams, is to set your alarm clock for five minutes from when you lay down, once it goes off
press snooze, and it will go off in the next 5/10 minutes again, and continue pressing snooze for an hour or two, then turn it off, and you
should enter RIM immediately.
Witch is the key trigger for a lucid dream.

Happy Dreaming!

Some other ways of telling when you're dreaming:
Lighting generally stays the same during dreams; if you try to turn on a light and it doesn't work, or lights only very dimly, that could be a sign of dreaming.
The time - in dreams, looking at a watch/clock will often show a random time. Try checking the time, looking away, and checking again; in a dream, the time shown will often change drastically in that period.
Count your fingers - sometimes in a dream, you have more or less than the usual number.
But the 'hold your nose and breathe through it' method is practically foolproof.

Anyway, I lucid dream quite often; usually between about once a week and once every two weeks. Most of those are just realising that I'm dreaming, though; I usually can't control them/fly/other cool things.

So thats how its called , I've had this more time .
Mainly during exame period , though mostly I can't control it , but I do remember I could look in every direction I wanted
is that also lucid dreaming ?

Yes.
Definition: A dream state in which one is conscious enough to recognize that one is in the dream state and is then able to control dream events.

The "Control" factor can very to how close you are to RIM sleep. It can even very from person to person.

I played a game, i thought it was so cool, the night i Lucid Dreamed about it, and it was a mediavel game, so the dream was pretty cool, and i couldn't even die cause it was a dream!
By the way, never have fun with swords, at the end of my dream i died, when i wake up, i cryed cause i thought i scould die! (I am near 13, so i haven't grown up completely, dont laugh at me!)

i had some tea to help me dream and it turned out weird like nightmare on elm street-freddy is a scary bitch up close but since it was lucid i pulled out a sword and stabbed dat guy
