Lost Season 5

http://larryfire.files.wordpress.com/20 ... =450&h=572[/img]

Wasn't sure if I should just post in the old thread or not,
BUT LOST IS ALMOST BACK (kinda) AND IM SO INCREDIBLY EXCITED!!!!!

If you haven't seen it yet heres the trailer for season 5
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODT_9NX2h9o

And also The Fray's new music video has some awesome new footage

So it looks like the people on the island have moved back in time (Juilet finding the hatch, the nigirian plane falling again, etc.) which is awesome. I really hope we get to see Rousseau and her team, I was so sad when she died. I've heard this season is going to mainly focus on the O6 getting back to the island, but I hope that doesn't mean it takes them the whole season, that would really suck. No Jin in either the poster or the trailer, wonder if he's really dead.

So many questions, I can't wait!!!

SEASON 5 STARTS JANUARY 21st

I felt the same way 'till I actually WATCHED it.

Maybe I have bad taste then, idk, I'd figured more people here would be into it
nvm:(

I have watched Lost from the beginning; and my only issue with it is it seems like there's..I dunno, 'filler' episodes where their all just mulling around the island being dramatic.
This last season with the
having moved the island, and apparently now the 6 have to go BACK
has really taken it places; so I'll be watching the next one.

the whole show is fucking bonkers now, it's just gone off in a ridiculous tangent, i actually laughed aloud when they said 'we're gonna have to move the island' because it's just so...what? i don't get how people can take it seriously anymore

i mean this all in a good way though, i still watch it religiously and can't wait for this

i watched the first three seasons in like two weeks and then the latest season i watched more or lessnormally and it was MUCH LESS ENJOYABLE probably because i had to do all the waiting between the episodes and it sucked :(

im thinking i'm gonna skip the season and watch it all at once after it's over but even though i say that i know i'm gonna watch it every night it comes out :(

The point is that this is science fiction, not Robinson Crusoe. If you have a problem with watching the show because they're moving an island that clearly exhibits paranormal conditions you may be surprised to know that there are no such things as the Force, warp drives, or dragons, and I hope that doesn't ruin any other shows or movies for you :P

So, I notice this topic has been pretty dead (and hopefully nobody will actually count this as a necropost) but I'm not going to make a new one just to ask one simple question.

Anyway, the final episode has just broadcast for us in the UK - and I know the Canadians and Americans have seen it: What did everyone think?

I cried when Juliet died - both times. Juliet, we hardly knew ye.

Thank God; the Jacob/Jacob's enemy thing finally explains what's been happening.

I don't think they've changed a damn thing! :(

Where do we go from here?

I have my theories, but I don't really feel like getting into them right now. Suffice to say that this season started out really bad, but it ended up being my favorite since season 2. I really dug the ending, and I'm excited to see how the re-boot effects the survivors. Next week, I'm going to watch season 5 again, just to see if I missed anything. Also, did you notice that Jacob touched everyone in the flashbacks? That was pretty cool.

I think the whole purpose to Lost is for people to make their own conjectures. I mean, it's obvious to most that the show proposes a lot of questions about morality, existence, faith, and destiny. It's up to the viewers to formulate how they individually feel about the themes. I can't stand people who read to far into it, or get so headstrong and start saying they've deciphered this, and know the answer to that. They ruin the fuckin' show.

I'm excited to see how the re-boot effects the survivors.

I don't think there's going to be a reboot - not from the Season Five finale events. Season Six will probably open with an LAX scene - a bit like the way season three opened with the Dharmaville reveal, or Season Five opened with the scene that later appears in full in the Faraday episode. The season will, if this is where things are going, build up to their arrival at LAX.

I think the big Season Six opening "shocker" will be the correlation between Locke and the Smoke Monster. ;)

The main arguments I have against the reboot are basically your other favorite season - season 2. :)

Desmond had to "detonate" the anomaly to stop it, no? I don't think anything has changed. They have been screaming "Dead is Dead" at us for the last ten episodes, and this has been confirmed despite Locke still walking around. I still think that the "What happened, happened" business applies. Look at Faraday: he thought he could change his destiny, but the very act of deciding he could unwittingly meant he was fulfilling it.

Juliet always detonated the warhead; it always exploded; it always stopped the Incident; from then on, DHARMA always had to rig the Swan station with a mechanism for ensuring the energy's discharge every 108 minutes, with a fail safe "nuclear option", that - supplemented by their understanding of what has transpired - was placed to wipe out the entirety of the energy pocket as a last resort. And they always filled in the centre room pouring concrete in a way which reminds Sayid of Chernobyl.
Radzinsky never got to start his experiments (or found out that he couldn't do what he wanted to anyway) and ended up minding the station during a DHARMA funding cut and their eventual withdrawal, coupled with the Purge, vainly hoping that one day he'll get to do the experiments he wanted to, until the tedium caused him to blow his own brains out.

Just because Faraday died, doesn't mean that his theory isn't true. There's really no way to tell what happened until the new season starts, but I'm holding my position with the re-boot taking effect. I'm sort of having the feeling that it's going to be like season 1, but the survivors will have the prior knowledge of the last time they went through the events. I agree with you that the concrete wall in the swan provides circumstantial evidence of a Chernobyl-esque coverup, but I just have this feeling. Also, I'm predicting negative intro screens and outro screens for the remainder of the show.

Here's something to think about: Back in season one, Locke saw "the monster" and said that it was beautiful. I've always thought that there were two monsters on the island, so I'm using logic to say that the one we've all seen is the "spirit" of "Esau", and the one that Locke saw was the "spirit" of Jacob.

Like I said earlier, though, there's no way to know for sure until the next season starts.
