Anyone looking forward to this?

It's a JP FF-ish RPG coming out in Feb for the 360..finally a game to look forward to! (Well I just finished Mass Effect and Eternal Sonata before that...but now there is nothing out)

Me too.  I had hardly heard any buzz about this game AT all.  I had heard of it..but no hype or anything.  I was actively trying to figure out my next game purchase and sad there was nothing close and saw the release on this one..so I researched it, found several movies of the first several mins of gameplay and intro and WHOA.  This looks VERY FF-ish..and since the music is by you know who..wow..this may actually Rival FF?

I rarely play video games anymore mind you. But this I look forward to.

Yeah, I saw the previews for the game, and I thought it looked great. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the whole "I am immortal" thing, because it could make the game a bit easy. But other than that, great game. And the fact that Nobuo Uematsu is composing it makes it all the more better.

They did that because this is first JP RPG that specifically caters to the "western" audience meaning it'll be weeaboo lite (i.e. no big eyes, small mouth prentious love stories here).  There's two story modes; one where you play as a teenager defending his home and the other where you play as this immortal demi-god thing.  They explained the battle mechanics and pretty much stated that when playing as the god dude, the game will work the same but you'll be facing larger enemies so expect to whack slimes as a kid and slaughtering entire armies as the adult.

As far as the story goes, I haven't heard much about the kid's story but the immortal guy's story involves some curse where he can exist for thousands of years and is basically tired of watching his friends die.  The game is supposed to be really dark and depressing so that's a nice change of pace from the normal LETS SAVE THE WORLD AND TAKE DOWN THE CHRISTIAN GOD YSE!!!11 stories almost every JRPG uses.

@Marcus - Damn, I didn't know about the Kid stuff. Makes the game sound much more interesting.
