Welcome to HBGames, a leading amateur game development forum and Discord server. All are welcome, and amongst our ranks you will find experts in their field from all aspects of video game design and development.
I'm hoping for some sort of visual-equipment based character creator, and so I was gonna edit that and make it change the face to whatever face the player chose.
This is the first part of the area south of the first map I posted a while ago, this is called simply "River Elm Region". This is just the first small part however, and it is not finished in any way, this is just the start.
If you are wondering of the odd shape, i tried to make instead of it being a map to get from A to B, it is a map to get from A, through a scenic route, with many side areas, to B.
The red line shows a sort of path through the map, but it will branch out into other areas of "River Elm Region" including: The Mithorenian Caves, Val'Ahr Woods, and a small clearing where a trader of some sort resides in a small tent/hut.
This is a VERY BIG screenshot. I updated the River Elm Region map a lot, and added the rest of the Moorlake Valley area onto it to show what the whole world would be like (so far). (The world will be a LOT bigger than this, this is just the first two maps really).
East of here would be "Some Temple", I haven't thought of a name yet but I do have some plans for it drawn out.
South would be the "Southern Areas", basically just another one or two maps extending Moorlake Valley and following the path of the River Elm.

You may be wondering why there is a lot of water behind the Northern wall of Tiben Town: It's supposed to be a dam or something like, blocking the flow of the River Elm, forcing it to go around the city.
I do have a storyline to explain this.
A hundred years ago, there was a great drought in Moorlake. The River Elm dried up almost completely, becoming a meer stream. Settlers from the southern regions found the soil where the river once had been to be fertile enough to grow small crops, and a small farming settlement was built. The drought ended, and the stream became bigger and bigger, until the Wizards of the land came up with a solution to stop the village becoming flooded- they would build a vast dam to stop the flow of the river and divert it around the village.
Notes:
I've said it before and I'll say it again, these two maps are nowhere near being finished.
Oh and graphics by Refmap. Tileset compiled by me however. Trading tents are an edit by myself but origionally by Refmap.
There was an early Beta which is many months old. It shows nothing of what the game is like now, for one thing the graphics have changed twice since then. It has nothing from the new game in it at all really. For that reason, I did not restore the download link when it timed out.
Thanks =) But it is still in the early stages yet.
Oh and:
Updates
I have made it so that it shows the HP of the player and the MP ontop of the HP/MP bars in the Hud.
Future updates:
-The player will gain 5 HP every step he moves (I need someone to script this for me, I'll be making a thread in script requests in a minute.)
Edit:
Hmm... this sure adds a hell of a lot of lag to my game... Any way I could do this less-laggy? Would having it every 10 steps reduce the lag or anything?
