my friend who plays little big planet, have gotten the insane idea that little big planet gives you more freedom in creating games than rpg maker does. i do not play little big planet myself (i think it looks like a really crappy game) but i am sure that rpg maker gives you far more freedom in creating. since i do not play it myself, it is difficult to argue against his opinion, therefore i ask for your help. how should i convince him that he is wrong?

i know this thread sucks but i'm desperate.

I've seen some crazy things done with LBP, man. Gradius-style shooters, difference engine-style calculators, board games, Bomberman. RPG Maker has scripting, but balancing that with how most people can't be bothered I'd say they're pretty much equivalent, albeit in different genres.

future reference, though, you might not want to get into committed arguments about games you've never played.

It's actually one of the most fun games I've ever played. And the level editor is really amazing. I think you're letting the childish look of it get to you.

Yeah, you're saying it looks crappy etc. yet you've never played it...

RPG Maker is really limited to only RPGs, and to make other genres, you need to do hours worth of scripting... on LittleBigPlanet, it's already for you there, besides, there's already a co-op built in with upto 4 players, and to be honest, yes, there is 110% tons more freedom than RPG Maker will EVER have.

To be honest, you should just admit to him that you're wrong, and next time, don't argue against a game you've never played, it's not the smartest of ideas.

ahahaha

youre retarded dont make threads ever again without sound knowledge

Besides LBP isn't marketed as a game-design engine. It's marketed as a GAME, with the option of making levels so that you can have other people enjoy them who also happen to have the same GAME.

It's not even close to the same thing; why would you compare?

lol @ comparing a game with user-generated content with a game-design program and engine.

yeah exactly. problem is that you are comparing rpg maker (rofl) with a game thats not intended to be an engine so its two separate playing fields.

i think alls been said here and you really dont care about the responses so im gonna close this before more people bandwagon on your stupidity
