Lighting System(PLEASE READ!)

Ok, so i'm making the horror game(BTW, i got the title screen!)
And i'm having a slight problem....
I'm using the lighting effects(Where its a circle around the character and everything else is black) and for some reason it isn't following me?
Example:

It isn't following my character, which is ruining it!

post the section of event commands where you are storing the players position, & displaying & moving the picture.

I'd actually like to know this too, I remember getting it working a while back, but can't remember HOW I did it, lol.

The way I've done it is pretty simple-- a Picture of darkness surrounded by light, and a parallel-process event that constantly Shows that picture at the player's Screen X and Y. (It has to be Screen X and Y, or you get the problem shown above.)
