Legitimate question

Why does everything start to suck eventually?

Look at movies, for example. Transformers and Iron Man both had good first movies, but then the sequels were just plot-less piles of action and explosions. Video games too! Final Fantasy keeps getting worse and so does Halo and Zelda. Does your mind just naturally start to progressively hate stuff/get bored of things or is it the lack of interest in quality of the creators of stuff that eventually lead to their plummet? Or both? You know the saying "All good things must come to an end"?--so damn true. Everything from hobbies to relationships, and to some, life in general, just aren't interesting anymore.

I personally think Zelda keeps getting better but that's more a matter of personal opinion so

The first Transformers was really boring and bland too, the second was just slightly worse. Also I never really liked the first Iron Man.

If the original in a series does well, why the hell wouldn't you make a sequel on it? You can argue about integrity all you want but from a business perspective it would be stupid not to cash in on that.

I haven't played very much Final Fantasy at all, but I have played FF1 for like 5 mins and FFX, and they aren't worse, they're different. At least the new ones are playable!

Haven't seen Transformers 1 but yeah 2 sucked, although my friends liked it.

Haven't seen Iron Man at all but honestly it never really looked good to me.

To be honest, I think newer Zelda games have been pretty good. If you're talking about the history of Zelda from the start, then the best ones were far more recent, on the N64/GCN/Wii. If you're talking about Legend of Zelda starting from the point of Ocarina of Time, I think you have a lot to learn about the franchise, including the fact that there are more recent games in it that are just as good, if not better. I would also have to say that the most recent Metroid game, Metroid: Other M is probably the most fun I've had in Metroid in years.

As for movies, it only goes to follow that things generally aren't as good in sequels as they are in originals. Simply put, in many cases, an original sells well because they made it with a high orientation toward content, while the sequels don't do as well because they are generally made to capitalize on the potential profits of a successful movie. Take the only American Godzilla movie, for instance. The ending was blatantly set up for a sequel, but they never made one. Why? Because the first movie didn't sell well enough for them to consider a sequel worth making. Part of this is because the first movie was the American movie industry attempting to capitalize on one of the most successful Japanese movie franchises of all time, and part was because it was just too different from the original Godzilla series. (By the way, the Japanese industry has officially renamed the American Godzilla to "Zilla", because they consider it to be far less than the Japanese version. Watch the Japanese movies, and you'll see why being killed by bombs from military jets makes it "unworthy" to be considered Godzilla)

Also, just so you know, the first video game to have healing by hooker was a Zelda game. Check it out. It was also one of the first side-scrolling action games. People hate on Zelda II far too much...

tl;dr: If they make it for the money, it will be bad. If they make it for the content, it will be good. Thus, Zelda and many other video game franchises are still good, while many movie franchises, along with things like final fantasy, suck more balls with every release.

This.

Try watching kids TV that you haven't seen before and compare it to kids TV you used to watch. I bet they're not drastically different, but the TV you saw has that ;_;nostalgia;_; factor we all love.

you're aging

life is a parabola

at first everything is amazing because you've never seen it

then you are met with endless days that are only distinguished by an ever-increasing stockpile of aches, worries, blemishes, and bills

and then you go senile and shit's good again

I have something i have to say in this thread.

POKEMON..

RED AND BLUE WAS THE SHIT DAWG, everybody played those games. Well if you didn't you suck. I've been playing Heartgold recently and it just doesn't make me wanna battle the elite four 70 times until I get to lvl 100 with all my pokemon charizard, vileplume, nidoking, zapdos, moltres, and articuno I had in red version. Is it the nostalgia? Maybe, but I also think it's the creators try to come up with brand new ideas and totally ruin the expectations of all the people who play the games hoping they will feel the same experience when they play another game made by it. I'll give an example. My favorite Zelda game was "A Link to the Past" It was also my first Zelda game. If they would remake this whole game into a more 3D experience like Twilight Princess, I don't think it would be boring to do it all over again, I think it would be amazing. I'm not really keen on the newer Zelda's because a lot of them just seem like they are trying very hard to create spinoffs. IMO Zelda died after Windwaker. Twilight Princess was ok, would have been better if he turned into a bunny and required the moon pearl instead of a gay ass wolf.
