Guests can't see the forums? Oh sorry didn't realise that, I'll sort it tommorow. I've tested the demo, the download worked fine for me the first time.

Yep, the demo worked at it was pretty fun to play. However: I think the first map was really hard to complete. The second wa spretty easy, but i just hided behind the barrier on the left and shot the zombies one by one. It's easy but also a little boring while doing so. Also, the full screen works a bit weird. Sometimes it plays in windowed mode and sometimes in full screen. When it's gameover it says the demo will end, but it will only turn from full screen mode to windowed mode.

Just saying this to help, you know you have a good project and so do i, so no reason to repeat that over and over :p

The download link now takes you to the LMS parts of the forums which are visible to guests.

@gRaViJa: Finally lol. I've no idea what happened the first, what was it, 4 times? :P But yeah it was just a tech demo, so I'm glad it was fun. Anyway I know whats wrong with the title sequence, I'll have to edit that. And the demo will end thing is the same error.

Anyone else downloaded it?

Jason

Awesome Bro

I downloaded and played it, to be honest, I was happy when it went into windowed mode, since I have a widescreen monitor so everything stretched, lol...

Okay, so the first thing I noticed, was the framerate was... well, not TERRIBLE, but pretty bad, enough to make button presses tedious, pressing to shoot and it happening like a second later meant I had to shoot in advance, although the movement keys worked fine, but everything else was so incredibly laggy with the button presses, I never even got to see the baseball bat animation because everytime I pressed the button to attack, it did nothing o.O

Aside from that, it may just be my computer (I can't see why, since it's a supercomputerwtfhax0r), but something I did think looked cool, was the amount of zombies onscreen, it really impressed me once I saw ATLEAST 20 zombies walking towards me, and I'm stuck in a corner with a gun that doesn't shoot, it was... fun, lol.

Tried it last night. After reading Gravija's post, I decided to play the 2nd level first. Avoiding the exploit where you can simply stand behind the wall, I went out and shot some zombies. The framerate was solid on my machine. I played windowed with desktop composition disabled.

Win7 x64, 2.60GHz E4700 Core2Duo, 2GB RAM. I won't bother posting the graphics card, as I'm under the impression than the RPG Maker series renders in software mode.

One of the first thing I noticed was that locking the direction is very important if you're not just going to sit in a corner. I found myself having to kite them around a lot, and the Z key was just too awkward to press several times, especially when you have some zombie munching on your arse.

The gun system seemed fairly temperamental. I couldn't get any gun apart from the pistol to work, and that eventually gave up as well. At one point I managed to completely bug out the shoot key and it got to the point where I couldn't actually do anything apart from run around.

Really not much else I can comment on. All you can do is go around shooting things.

It's not a bad tech demo. I'm just curious about how you're going to make the mechanics interesting and dynamic in the actual game. So far I've seen that you can either kite them or bug them out on a wall. What makes a game fun is when you finish a level which has taxed you. You get a sense of accomplishment and go on to the next level only to find they've thrown something completely different at you, as if to say 'You've managed to do that. That's great. Now try this.'

Unless you've got some interesting ideas for making the gameplay more varied, it's going to get fairly repetitive.

The 'public' Forum can't be accessed by guests.
I don't really get the point of registering to an unknown community to see what it is like, including the tech demo :/

I remember this, and I will definitely try this out.
EDIT: Didn't read Ragnaroks post before I posted this, but now I did and I agree with him.
