Well, hopefully, Last Man's Stand is more exciting than that. But please, no one else post films/books etc that are similar to the game. I have already said that the story line has been used quite a few times before. But the features in LMS make it unique. Thanks.
 
I am having a lot of problems with Mr Mo's NeoABS, mainly that many of the systems in the game don't work with it, so I have decided to scrap that battle system. Instead, I am going to make my own. It will be completely evented (as usual) because I can't script all that well. Now I know that this is a massive task and could take some time, and that evented battle systems are useally very basic, but I will get it done - eventually. When its done, it should:
  • Be completely animated
  • Have realistlc enemy settings (i.e. they will only attack if you are in thier sight or hearing range)
  • Have Rex attacking the enemys with you.
  • Be compatible with everything else
  • And shouldn't lag too much.

Finished! Well, at least, I've finished the main structure of the battle system, now I can play around with adding graphics and animations. It took me less time than I expected, but I now have an evented ABS with enemys, gun range, sight range and no lag.
 
I've added a bit more to the battle system. You can now use grenades and examine dead monsters bodies. I just have one error at the moment that I will fix later today, and that being that you can shoot a monster even if you have your back to it.
 
Examine dead monster bodies?
Does that mean that they carry useful stuff?
Or quest Items?
Or..
Or..

You can make all kinds of story with that option.
Really nice.

They are the first monsters that you fight through out the game. And they are the small ones. The bosses later on fill up half the screen.

I don't think they are. When you are playing, they go together well. And the blue stuff is where I haven't yet got round to finishing the transparency.
 
I'm very glad the forums are back up, and pleased that this topic has been moved in to the main descusion thread. I've been working on the very simplistic menu system. I'l have some screenshots of that up soon.
 
Updated - I have completed the battle system! I've also added a poll. I want to know what you want to see in a demo. Please vote, so I can get a demo out quickly!
