Kingdom Under Fire 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOnk4fVhD10

It's supposed to be an real-time strategy action RPG with a online MMO option.
They however have made it less strategic and more action orientated.

The game will be released on PC, PS3 and Xbox360 (PS3 will come later but will feature extra content).

Here's some gameplay

Right now three classes are revealed (not sure if this is online or offline) but the full game will have a total of 18 classes

These currently revealed classes are:
- Spellsword/Dark knight (a very fast warrior with access to some damn good looking ice magic)
- Berserker (Big ass warrior with a huge two handed weapon)
- Musketeer/Gunslinger (A knight with a bastard sword and a gun).

from the look of those trailers the animations look top notch and it seems like a very fun game with some cool strategic (I think I saw building towers, archer placement, etc.. in a couple of the trailers). i'm also impressed by the amount of NPC's on screen!

I can't really find anything about the MMO aspect but the single player alone looks good enough to be bought.

Anyone else heard of this game? Or interested in it maybe?

See, why would they delay the PS3 version? Is it really that hard to release them simultaneously... besides, I never played the first, so unless this is a standalone game that doesn't require me to have played the first in order to enjoy it (Like the Final Fantasy games, they're numbered but unrelated), then I'll maybe THINK about getting it...

It looks like the ps3 version got announced later then the other 2 (I also found something that says the xbox version is stalled.. development problems..)

I'm long happy ps3 user actually get the game for sure :p
Because this game simple looks amazing imo :)

I think it's a good sign, honestly. With cross-platform releases like this, glitches and compatibility problems can crop up if the developers just port the "master" copy at the last minute. The delay means they're going to be spending more time making sure it works like it's supposed to on all platforms. Keep in mind, the PS3 has a bit more power and storage space behind it than the 360. Among other things, they'll probably be making adjustments to take advantage of that.

I don't dig on the rock soundtrack -- when working with rock, game composers tend to forget there are other instruments that could go along with the guitar to sound pretty nice. Gameplay looks like something I could appreciate, though. We'll see, I guess.

Yeah, hopefully they will, I mean, some developers will just wait a while to port the game over, and not make any changes at all, or it'll be worse...

But either way, if this game requires me to have played the first to understand what's going on without giving me a recap or anything, I'll pass, call me a weirdo or whatever but I really don't like getting into a game midway into the series if I haven't played the ones before it...

I don't think you need to have played the first (knowing this is actually part 5).. I'm pretty sure you can play it without playing the four others (as only the PC had all parts and xbox had only two parts so far).. its also 150 years later sooooo :p

Compared to Dynasty Warriors and Ninety-Nine Nights, this looks pretty good :0 I do have to agree with mawk on the rock soundtrack. The music tends to drain out behind every other sound though, so I guess it is acceptable. The strategy element looks like it could be interesting. Hopefully, they flesh out that area so it doesn't seem tacked on.
