Just played the demo and I'm very glad I did. Most of anything I would have said has probably been said, and the fact this is a early demo. But I must say my biggest gripe was how slowly you go up the ladders. Aside from that this is going to be one hell of a game. I really like your visual presentation style. Good luck with the rest of this project. Looking forward to it.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I really appreciate it!

Thanks for the rating ccoa, appreciated also!

Since it's been mentioned so much, I'll definitly speed up the ladder climbing and change the anim for it.

@Malick: lol, my secrets out!

Valentine, I'm not sure if you know or not, but your game is unencrypted. But, whether or not you do, I noticed that your events are intricately coded! Did it take you long to do those? I mean, DAMN!

Someone already said that it's way too short :] And I thought I was the only one making few minutes demos :p
Anyway, what's done so far is great. I haven't enjoyed any demo that much for a long time. It has nice, non-RTP graphics, it makes the right atmosphere, the music fits well to situations. The idea of downloading the equipment is great, reminds me of GITS (so does the main character) and The Matrix.
Might I recommend a few things...
Animated panoramas - changing the hue of the panorama (SoSPan) by 10 ever 16 frames (wait:8) gives some really nice effect. Probably preparing more pictures with more/less saturation could also look good, but that's up to you if you decide to try.
Some SF HUD and an original menu system are a "must have"s for a game that promissing. Well, the HUD maybe not, but I'm guessing some life/energy display would look and fit quite good.
One thing I didn't like - the battle animations. They were rather crappy :]
Also i was hoping to hear the mp3 version of PE battle track (will you be using th "Explosive Attack" theme?:>)

I'm hoping to see this game getting even better. Best of luck in making it :)

The game demos coming out these days are fantastic. And this one is no exeption. I love the animations (For the most part). I also love the way you bring up the game title. Almost like a movie. Good luck with this. As much as I'd like to see any project get completed, this style of game (In a full version) would be awsome.

Hey Val, this question doesn't really pertain to your game, but I wanted to know whether or not you draw sketchs of your sprites (main and npc) before actually spriting them, or do you freestyle?

I usually draw out concept sketches for the character designs, but not the actual sprites. Those are "Freestyle" if you like, though not so much since they're spriten on the VexT template. If you mean the poses and animations then no I don't sketch those at all, just fiddle with the sprites til it looks passable =P

Most npc designs are made up as I go though... then I later fiddle once I have a better idea of what I want to create.

I'll get round to commenting on my other feedback soon, but I'm pressed for time atm. Thanks all! Love ya  :#

i sprite like that, too

say, Val, are the tilesets in your 'unencrypted' demo open to the public? i'd like to know, because if not, i'll probably go ahead and try and make my own futuristic tileset (though painstaking as it may be)...

Just finished the demo, and I loved it! Very hungry for more. ^^ I noticed a typo in the opening scrolling text, however. Second to last paragraph, "The Whispers where created..." Thought you'd like to be made aware of it. But seriously, wonderful demo! I eagerly await more! ^_^

This is one of the most impressive projects I've come across this far. Really enjoyed the demo. The whole demo is eye candy, and ccoa is right; it plays like an alpha of a professional game. Good luck with this porject. I'll be keeping my eyes on it ^^

I hope this doesn't count as a necropost but I just played this and it killed me when it ended. Please say this is going to continue, because I don't think I could bear it if it became vaporware.

Don't know if this has been mentioned. But the 'Chicago' font is not free. Nor does it look the same as in your screenshots.
However 'pic Chicago' sounds like the font you mean. If the project was encrypted I wouldnt've been able to do a minor fix to view text.
So that must mean your Chicago is different again.

I loved this demo, it looks so amazing and you did a good job of editing CT graphics to be larger minus pixellation.
I love Sci-fi. <3

P.S: Fonts should be free. ALL fonts :B

Maybe it's not free but it isn't for sale, either. Nowhere I look seems to have it for sale but I did find it for free download in a few places. MyFonts has a listing for it, but they don't sell it. They say it only comes with the Mac OS which is clearly not true as it came with my PC.
