Kinderia

Fear my horrible editing skills... ok, I edited the map, attempting to make it somewhat less blocky. I even split it up to "Before" and "After" editing, although it's barely big enough to see any difference. That small piece of land to the east is pretty noticable.

No no no... I wasn't looking for you to make the edges less square!
I wanted you to redo the whole map, and give the continent more for. By that I mean...

Notice how this continent is spread out, and branches out? It's not isolated to a portion of the map, nor is it rectangular and "blah." This is what I mean. Not the small details around the edges, but rather the whole shape

What, something like

this?
btw, that line separating the continent is supposed to be the border between the two nations. I drew it by accident. :\

1. Consider Non-rtp. RTP is just meant to give you something to start with when you begin RMXP, and isn't actually meant for making games with it... My opinion though.
2. Make a plot-line before you start; don't make stuff up as you go! Think up a plotline, make it, then make a script. You don't need great detail. Just enough for you to understand.
3. Progressing into the story, try as hard as you can to not make what's going to happen so obvious.
Originality, and doing something you wouldn't expect yourself helps.

That's it! Good luck!

Well... um... I'm using RMVX but yeah the RTP is difficult to map with.
Well, I guess you'll see a new topic started by me in probably a few months. I found a few scripts and now I need to learn how to work with them, and then I need to do databasing.

If anyone else thinks this isn't project-ready, POST HERE OR DIE.. maybe.

Okay, this is going to kind of change. I'm no longer using RMVX, but RPG Toolkit. Not quite sure how that's going to affect this though, but some of the features will. I am not sure about this switch too, because RPG Toolkit won't even start installing, so I haven't tried it out yet. I'll probably make the decision over the Thanksgiving weekend possibly.

God no...
Why toolkit? If you really want out of RM, use GM. RPGTK sucks. I used it for years --- it's buggy, slow, and every action requires scripting. Whereas GM can event (sorta), has more features, and is much easier.
Don't even try RPGTK.

oh... uhhh... ok. I'll attempt GM again. Actually, I could already tell the poorness of RPGTK because it wouldn't even install for me. Switching to possibly GM... or else I'm going to stick with RM...

I truly do not know what to use for my game. I don't want to use RPGVX, as I don't know RGSS2 and there really aren't any good tutorials out there. So here is a list of engines that look promising:
RPGTK
Game Maker
Sphere

or... I could just go back to RPGVX.

welp

Grrr... I gave up on all the others. I'm sticking with VX. Oh boy, I wasted three days doing not- I guess I'd better gather resources! *leaves*
