plot:
Many years ago, after countless wars the world went to hell (pun intended). All power and technology have stopped working due to the one final war; the Great war that eventually left both sides nothing more than wasteland. People depended on machines to live their lives. The sudden change caused many to turn on eachother. Even after hundreds of years the damage has yet to be fixed.
Instead of helping eachother to save whatever there was left of the world, people fled to the one thing they had left, their religions. Time seemed to reverse as the world dwelled deeper into a second Dark Age. Eventually, the thing that was meant to protect them has now become their curse. Realizing the potential, a man named Mordecai rose to power by claiming to be a profet. He established a church that now runs 3 out of the 5 remaining countries. Religion has now become an occult.
However, it seems the ancient ancestors foresaw this. Fearing for the world, a secret society created a beast named Dagun to keep people in line if they ever went too far. However, they sealed it away once realizing that even with good intentions, a savior can become a destroyer. Dagun was released once before and nearly destroyed the land. It was eventually sealed up.
This is reguarded as merely a legend by many. However, recently the church has been conduucting expiriments with mysterious items that have given a sudden growth in technology once again. Soon the realazation came clear, they had a part of Dagun.
Only a few people still defy the church. We follow the story of one such group. We begin with Lena and Vahren attempting to destroy the part of Dagun that is being used in a heavily armed area of the church's city....and it appears Vahren has been here before.......
main characters (besides Mordecai since he's explained above)
note: I'm going for the dysfunctional family of gaming but that won't be present in the first version, nor will much of the backrounds. It will eventually get to this though.
Vahren: he knows nothing of his past. He awoke one day in a lab after a mysterious man attacked it. All he has is little clues that lead to the church, the truth about the great war, and Dagun.
Lena: born a princess of Tur, she watched as the church invaded and left it as nothing more than of ruins. To get on the church's good side, her father offered Lena up to the church's bothel. She eventually escaped and there she met an old childhood frined of her's, Vahren. She seems to cling onto him as if he's the only thing keeping her alive. to what extremes would she go to keep him by her side?
Duv: she is another escapy from a church lab. She is the only known person who has the ancient blood to summon Dagun. She escaped as a little girl. She's had a rough life, constantly running and hiding. She can't read or write. She never had the time to learn. she is very emotional and has resorted to many things in hopes of easing her pain.
Raptor: a high ranked soldier from Veca. He was captured over 100 years ago and has been living in a cell fever since. He once made plans to leave war after one last mission. He's had hundreds of "one last mission"s. It's almost as if haos is the only thing that keeps him sane.
Xaxi: Mizu royalty now a nurse for the Vecan leaders. She was exhiled for a "crime" she'd rather not talk about because she fears people and what they would do do her. Her only wish is to find someone who understands and is willing to be with her.
Leru: A member of the church's special ops team. Born in Rah. He likes to be a protector and actually hates having to kill ever since his mission in Le Mai, where many were killed for nothing. This mantality has left him outcasted by the rest of the church's soldiers.
faust (not playable): A Vecan orphan forced into a war he wanted no part of. He's different than most other vecans. He had supernatural powers that made him feared even by his own kind. He went missing over 100 years ago. Some say he died. Some say he fell in love and hid with her. Some even claim it was Mordecai's own daughter. No one really knows.
