I saw a thing on CNN that showed an entire section of suburban houses floating away. Like, legit, foundation-having, cinderblock-and-plaster-and-wood-built houses.
I keep hearing on NPR & other news/talk radio networks that it's unlikely to affect the world economy a whole lot, but ... I don't see how it wouldn't. China/Taiwan/etc. are the powerhouses of miscellaneous manufacturing, but Japan is responsible for countless high-end tech manufacturing/development, and a VAST market share of the automotive industry.
Plus, they hold tons and tons of national debt over quite a few countries, America included. What happens if they call us on it and demand payment so they can rebuild?
I wish it'd be 2013 already though, so I wouldn't have to hear about "OH GOG 2012 END O' TH' WORLD" shit anymore.

Those people are called FUCKING MORONS and please don't group non-moronic Americans in with themJuan J. I think it's crazy complaining about something that happened when you weren't even born.
