The best way I can describe this would be like Diablo/Diablo 2 where, after you kill an enemy, it might drop an item (pulled from a randomized list) or money (random amount), or drop nothing. When the player walks over this (represented by a small sprite or something), the name of the item/weapon/whatever is displayed and the player can press a button to pick it up and put it in their inventory. I don't have too many standards, but it would be preferrable for it to be compatible with Mr Mo's ABS and this item grid thingy script, simply so that if there isn't enough space for the item, you can't pick it up.
