it looks too flat where the water finds the sand...

Yeah dude, you won't find a beach where the coastline is an exact straight line, curve the coastline a bit and it would look better than it is. :cool:

Ragged coastlines and a little variation on sand, it looks like one half has been copied.

As I said a cropped image. And its a cliff so it's suppose to look straight, gives the effect of looking down.
