Well, I made up a quick title screen for an upcoming game using a pre-made resources and some simple fonts. I've checked it in VX and the start menu fits in perfectly. So what do you guys think?
Your title screen should reflect your game IMO, and this tittle seems more fit for a 3d game or something. IDK, but either way I don't care for the text too much.
All right. No ID, it is an RM game, so were right there. Do you have any suggestions as to what I could do instead, because in honesty, I have no ideas when it comes to title screens. I thought I was onto something good here :S
Well it really depends on what your game is about. It may or may not be a good title screen, but in my opinion that does not matter in this case. What you need to do is make a title screen the represents your game. I could easily change the title to a totally different game and it would be fine, as there is nothing that seems to tie to your game. I suggest you find a somewhat important theme in your game and try to use it to make a title screen.
As the title screen goes, I find it to be to busy. I would simplify it.
Right, the game is about a spaceship (the Artemis) being attacked by a group of synthetic lifeforms while mapping unknown regions of the Auraxis Galaxy. The game takes pace while the ship is trapped in a subspace conduit (I imagine subspace to look like the nebulous cloud represented on the title screen).
I still think you could do more, such as maybe make a space screen with a simple ship or something of the sort. Again, I could change the name of your game to another sci-fi adventure and it would fit. Try characterizing it more.
All right, I was thinking I could put the silhouette of a spaceship against the light background somewhere, would that be a good idea? It's either gonna be that or a little robot silhouette.
Yea you should use some sort of sky setting, maybe with a small space craft falling from it. The key is to make it reflect your game while keeping things simple. Nothing complex.
Well, it's either that or a sort of computer terminal with statistics about the enemy ship on it and the game name on there too. It would set up the rest of the game, I'm thinking. People wouldn't know what it meant, then they'd go "Oohhh" when they realise what it's talking about.
