Is RMVX always laggy, or is it my PC?

Alright, I made a hud, with 4 50x50 icons. And when I testplay, it...r....u....n....s.......l...i....k...e.....t...h..i...s....
To myself I'm thinking "These is no way this program can't handle 4 small images, maybe I need more RAM".

What do you guys think? My ancient archetype of PC has 768mb of ram, and I normally run nothing more than the occasional IM and iTunes, if that while running VX.

I hope I don't have to cash-on for another ram card.

My little laptop needs 2ghz of RAM just to run Vista, I got an extra Gig on it to run other things, I would suggest getting more 768 is very very old, I remember back in the 90's when that was the norm, but you really need more if not for RMVX, but for anything else, you'll see an overall difference in performance then.

I'm hoping that you're running Windows XP, because I don't know how well a computer could cope with Vista on less than a gig of memory.

Ram is not very expensive.  I added a gig of RAM to my laptop for about $20.00 and about two minutes of work.

If it runs on Parallel Process and updates continuously, try using "Wait: x frames." It reduces the time it takes to update graphics and such, but also reduces a lot of lag. If you keep it around 8-15 frames it shouldn't be noticeable, but still help with the lag.
