Invisible Walk Blocker

In RM2k you were able to create an event and make it without a picture but still have it as if the event was a solid object.  This often helped me create maps and control where a person can walk and cannot.  I have not been able to figure out how to do that on RMXP and I am regretting buying the program because of it.  Does anyone know how to create a invisible walking blocker?

you can do that on rmxp by:

Create an event
Choose a simple event graphic like a random character and set opacity to 0. That way the player cannot pass through it.

alt. method:
You could also set a tile on the tileset to have no passability (just make sure you know which one it was, lol )

Is it not easier to adjust a blank tile in the tileset to allow no movement and then paint that tile where you want to prevent the player from going.

Only problem being, you won't know where you have placed it afterwards.

To prevent that, you could use a placeholder tile (a lamp, a portrait, anything so long as it's visible) until you're finished painting that invisible wall, then bucket-fill that wall of lamps with your impassable clear tile. Bucket fills would be a good enough way to find that wall again in the editor (as the clear tile is technically distinct from the "eraser" tile in the top-right corner,) although it would take a good deal of trial and error.

Carry it one step further, and make the "Blank Unpassable" tile with a big "X", like in the database for "unpassable".
Then, at the end of your develpment, just edit the X out leaving the tile blank. That way you never have to hunt
down the invisible tiles.

Be Well
