Hello RM community!

My name is Eric (No flashy screen name here, sorry). I’ve finally decided to come back to RM after putting it down for a good two years. I was RMin’ back at RMXP.net and before this wretched thing you guys call VX even existed. But now is not the time or place to talk about VX.

My “area of expertise” would probably be mapping, which is obviously why I much prefer XP over VX. (Oh, imagine that, another person that can map. Join the club, right?) So that pretty much means I’m dead weight in this community after seeing some of the amazing talent around here. Yes, I’ve been lurking. :biggrin:

One thing I’m really starting to get into though is making music. Music is HUGE to me, and I think a good musical score is very important in games. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of composers around here, but maybe I didn’t look hard enough. I’m currently in the process of setting up my own little home studio (for my band) but I’ll more than likely be creating a lot of my own songs too. Hopefully I can get some out there in the near future.

And yes, I am working on a game, but honestly, I can’t say if it will ever get done or not. I’m fine with that because really I just enjoy the process more than anything.

Hey Eric, welcome to the forums. Musician eh, what's your instruments and favorite musicians or groups? What kind of music does your band play.

Myself I got a crummy old J Tursei Electric Guitar and a Washburn accoustic with electric pickups. I mainly jam out for my own amusement. I like to learn Bob Dylan tunes and various grunge and punk songs.

Anyways, I play piano but in my band I just do vocals. We're a grindcore/death metal band, so it's definitely not for everyone, but if anyone around here is interested in that style of music we will be recording some of our stuff soon and I could probably post it here on the forums.

Aside from that, I like pretty much every style of music, except for country and mainstream rap. It's too hard for me to pick an all time favorite, but as of late, I've been listening to a lot of Serj Tankian's solo album. It's a good'n, if you haven't heard it, you're missing out!
