What the heck is this??
In an effort to boost activity and interest in game making on the site, we're bringing in challenges that will run for three weeks every month. These challenges will have simple themes, so feel free to exercise your creative juices with these and go nuts!
Challenges are not maker-specific - you can use whatever program you'd like to make your games. However, we encourage you to attempt programs you're not familiar with. It's a good opportunity to learn, and you might just me better at it than you think!
Don't stress on making your games too long. We're stressing quality over quantity with these challenges. Use your three weeks wisely, and don't procrastinate. Take this opportunity and use it to shine!
At the end of the three weeks, there will be a week of voting, much like the pixel challenges that are currently being run. Everybody will get the chance to play and rate each other's games. You're especially encouraged to try out others' games and help support the amateur game making community. The more that participate, the better for everybody! Plus, there are... prizes........
Prizes? Aww yeah.
The game that receives the most votes will win the triweekly challenge for the month. You'll get a fancy new usergroup all to yourself for a week, and bragging rights, of course.
But the best prize is the skills you'll be learning along the way and the fun you'll be having making games, of course!
Sounds great! How do I enter?
The specific details can be found in this thread. That's also where the challenge theme for this month will be, and where you can post status updates, ask questions, and talk about your games.
