Internet Toolbar with Google Search

Internet Toolbar with Google Search

What the hell is this?

This is a script with MMORPG's in mind. It creates a toolbar, like what you get for web browsers.

The toolbar features four hyperlinks, and a search box, which can be linked to any websites you wish.

How do I use this?

Instructions are in the script, script is in the demo.

Credits

See the demo for the additional scripts that were used.

Images

The images used are in the demo, and they can be easily editted. When editting the toolbar image itself (Graphics\Pictures), keep the search box in the same place, as well as the search button.

Added:

This is a replacement of the toolbar image, to make it look like the default Windows XP skin.

How doth it worketh?

It is basically two windows. The base window holds the graphics and the text, for the toolbar. The input window is for the search. Then, it uses the mouse script to check when the mouse is over certain parts of the windows. When the mouse is clicked over certain objects there, it uses the A.href script to open the player's default Internet browser, to a web page specified in the script.

Why Google?

Google search is pre-built-in to the system, but you can use any search engine, the instructions are in the script. I figured I needed an example, and whenever I think search engine, Google springs to mind.

Money... I want money...

Google Adsense users should be able to link the search box to their Google Adsense search boxes without too much trouble. You should be able to work it out. Then, whenever anybody searches with it, you'll get a bit of cash, be it a few cents or whatever.

Script

No script, just a demo with a script in it.

Awesome script, I prolly won't use it though. I'm sure a lot of people would if they were to make a RMXPIE(RPG MAKER XP INTERNET EXPLORER) lol.

I know this is probably one of those flashy scripts no-one will ever use, but for anyone who is using it, I just found out you can link this with your Google Adsense for Search box (providing you created one already). If you have an adsense search box on your website, search for Random like the instructions say. Then just copy everything before and after Random, like before. It should then link this with your search page, and so if someone searches with it, you'll get like... $0.000001 or something probably. :)

Awesome Bro

Holy shit, if I could get EVERYONE on the forum to play my game and search over 100 times each, I might made a dollar ! (Pound doesnt sound right)

Hmm, someone searched with the box on my website today, and it got me $1.98. Yet other days it's like... $0.01 if I'm lucky. It's a strange system they use to work out the prices.

Just something I managed to work out:

Linking search to an SMF forum

I'm using RMXP.org as an example. If you want to link your search box to a SimpleMachines forum (like RMXP.org) you use the following syntax:

Start: "http://www.rmxp.org/forums/index.php?action=search2&search="
End: ""

Obviously replacing www.rmxp.org/forums/ with your own address (i.e. for my website, I would use "http://forums.vengeance-rpg.com/index.php?action=search2&search=").

The search= isn't there by default, but I found out you can include it, to auto-enter the search subject.
