Internet Explorer Help!

Okay.... I can't figure this out anywhere using Google search, so I was hoping that maybe there was someone here who could tell me what to do.

My IE7 browser is severely messed up. It started when I had to install Visual Studios 2005 for my C++ college course. This started a problem with the Just-In-Time debugging thing, which came up when I went to certain pages like my Hotmail login. Sometimes, this would even shut down the browser. Well, I finished with my class, and got so irritated that I completely uninstalled VS05. Now, I just get a message saying something about an 'unhandled exception' and it still crashes my browser. It even crashes Firefox sometimes, though not as often. I went into internet options and disabled debugging, but it sort... ignored me I guess.

Also, my hot keys (Ctr+V, Ctr+C, ect) don't work in IE and it will only load part of a page all-too-often.

So... does anyone know how i can repair my browser... preferably for free since I just spent $130 to get my computer fixed... which was when the hot key problem started, by the way.

Cause of your problem: My guess is Visual Studios 2005 was meant for IE6, and loads plugins not compatible with IE7.

Solution:
Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Internet Explorer (No Addons)

Then press ALT to expose the menubar, and go to tools > internet options. From there, click on the Advanced tab, and click on Reset... at the bottom. That should fix all your problems.

Lesson: any asshole that charges you over 100 bucks to fix a simple problem like this is cheating you :/ The big PC repair companies don't know fuck-all, they hire untrained monkeys with A+ certs (which are meaningless) and train them to follow a couple simple troubleshooting procedures similar to the ones Windows Help walks you through. Most little guys are hacks and cons too. Always better to try to fix it on your own.
If you can't do that, and you have to pay someone to help you, talk to them, spend some time in the shop and see if they can answer questions or give you some ideas as to what went wrong before you give them any money. People who know what they're doing can't resist talking a little if you're friendly. If they don't do that, or sound like they're bullshitting you, trying to squeeze you, or blowing you off walk out and go somewhere else. :)

Well, the problem I had fixed actually wasn't simple. My computer was unusable because something had gotten in and attacked my entire harddrive, completely destroying my virus protection software and then sending my computer into an infinate loop of rebooting, crashign, and rebooting until I hard-killed it.

However, I was really pissed because they charged me to clean out an unused account on my computer that they could have just deleted entirely.

And... My hot keys still aren't working... *glares at compuet* and I'm still having a problem with flash/Java, even though I have Flash 8 and it says Java is enabled. Oh well... I'll just keep using Firefox for that stuff. I can deal with that as long as my browser isn't crashing anymore.

Sounds like they didn't do a complete job :/ I'd offer a hand but for the obvious. I don't suppose they gave you details about the virus?

Nope. Just a bunch of Spyware.
I really don't know what's going on. The hot keys work in every other program: MS Word, Firefox, RMXP. Just not Internet Explorer, and it's annoying.
