Internet Drama

Forgive me if there's already a topic on this, I did a search buy couldn't find one. Anyway, I don't want to dwell on the description too much, I just find it quite entertaining that the internet is often like a soap opera. Message boards, at least. I'm looking forward to seeing what this forum can offer.

Seriously though, what do yo think about it? You'll obviously have encountered it at least once in your stay. Do you find it pathetic, entertaining, or an integral part in the social interaction between people over a technological medium? Does it display emotion, or show weakness? Please, discuss. I'd love to finally read what people think about it.

I personally love internet drama. I find it both entertaining, and irritating, I find it "irritaining".

I never(well, almost never) see anybody of high intelligence, or at least anybody that I consider to be smart partake in such antics. I think it's because only morons truly think that they can win an argument over the internet, when anyone with common sense knows that you can't... In most cases, that is.

I especially love the drama on this site. A perfect example being this thread:Bye-bye

Followed by this one:Hullo again!

And ending with his bannenation.

Generally, anybody that gets all worked up over something on the internet probably isn't too bright.

But that's just the way I see it, as I am an asshole that finds himself superior to most, condescends to others whenever possible, and who should not have been given any sort of power within the forum, as it does nothing, but inflate my ego even further. :3

Goddamnit, why does my soul mate have to be a dude!?!

EDIT: Btw, I love those topics. I only glanced through the first one, but the second was a classic pwning. I'm sorry I wasn't around to witness it.

I choose "entertaining".

Eh, I guess part of my personality is that I get really hyped up when drama starts, any drama, not just on the internet. I remember when I was at my school library and some tall bitch was yelling at this other tall chick, demanding her to apoligize to someone. She basically drew attention to herself, and I started at laughing and ended with making fun of her as she got kicked out by one of the staff. My behavior on the internet is slightly similar, if not more intense than that. When some n00b is talking crap and drawing the attention of a lot of people, I'd join in and flame the crap out of him. It can be fun to be mean. :P

I'll chose irritating.
I haven't personally been irritated by any of it, as far as I know very little if any has involved me(?)

However the case of a certain teddy bear muncher doing his little 4chan impersonation badly, trying to be hard, and effectively looking like a pathetic laughable twit was entertaining.

Entertaining obviously

I don't know why I just find it fun. Can't explain it, I guess you need to know me well enough to tell me why O_o

Actually internet dramas teaches patience, communication skills, writing skills, debating skills and analyzing skills.

But then again, in the end, internet dramas are practically useless unless you are really sensitive.

I can point out a lot of members then who should have absolutely no mistakes in their:
ability to communicate a point, to express said point, debate said point, and analyze someone else's point.  Hell, they would technically by that draft have better grammar as well.

Yet they don't

In the industry we call them idiots.

Aah, internet drama : the life blood of every community, the sweet nectar of a forum's life. Yet also its bane, its nemesis -- hell, arch nemesis.

Internet Drama can foster much need "lulz", yet at the same time effectively destroy what semblance of order there was in a given community.

As sixty put it, it's very much irritaining. Depends on your mood I guess.

i LOVE IT. i bathe in it. it's the most beautiful thing in the world - if, of course, you can pull it off right. this is an excellent example of quality. note his use of "your" for "you're", the copious amounts of "fucking", and just the general feel of the entire post. it was directed entirely at me, and it struck a chord within me, solely because it was so well-done.

another fine example:

guess who :3":21onxmm4 said:
Not like it matters, right? Fake name or not, I've helped countless members of the community, and I've contributed my project, resources, ideas, opinions, and who knows what else?

You Dark Dominion crowd, all of you, Teloch, Claw, Kav, get the fuck over yourselves. Your community sucks- always has- and I am ashamed to have ever been a part of it.

Honestly, it just seems that you're jealous that you lost me to a better community- one with a future that you people couldn't control over your own sites. Site that you people drove into the ground.

And you're all the exact same, too. Despite all your bullshit about being different people and not having a community anymore. Don't deny it. You're all immature spammers with nothing to do but follow me around.

I'm not leaving, whatever you people do. You'll never get the better of a better man. Let me go, you immature kids, and stop fucking with every forum I go to.

I'm better than you, and always will be.

of particular note is the line "You'll never get the better of a better man."

both so beautiful, so crushing. tortured souls screaming to be heard.

I should have been in that apologies list by serenade

rofl that quote was funny O_o who was it I can't go into the general discussions sub forums >_<

For fans of drama and enemies of Yivyn, have some logs. Yivyn's conversation was really easy to control. He must think he's incredibly smart, but I knew exactly what was coming at all times :x

Warning: The next one becomes really, really ugh after he decides he needs backup. If you're pushed for time, I'd say to just stop reading there, since it's all baseless insults directed at Atemu and I. I pretty much gave up then, since I've not the patience to deal with a pair of faux-anon, and they were making themselves look incredibly stupid without much help :D. I'll point out that they're really conscious about their self-graced /b/tardedness, and as such try to NO U it on me without me saying much. The friend is a much of a tool as Yivyn, but it's difficult to control two people alone like that.

I think that's one of the many reasons I don't go on IRC. I like to avoid any argument that contain:
Matt - Ride the Comet <3 says:
Ooh, Atemu's pissed now
`rie!, says:
k i summon winged dragon of ra
I think I wet myself when I read that.

Anyway Yivyn sounds like a 13 year old. But I don't know him at all, or where he is coming from with his arguments. Eventually he'll move on and be happy somewhere else and thats the best we can hope for.

On Topic:
Internet drama is like a witnessing a car accident for me. I don't want to look but I can't help it.

i mostly like the console ware variety, myself. i can spend all day arguing with internet kids in a nerd rage about how the 360 is better than the wii and how nobody cares about the ps3 except like 12 people.

the "hay you B& me and now im making fun of this site" shit is yawnfest tho.
