Interesting/Odd Habits

- i say "thankoo" instead of "thank you" ... habit derived from cutespeak around kids/animals and cannot shake it no matter who i talk to :(

Ven, I do the first one too! And the second one is something that gets to me, as well. Especially if it's my arms. I'm fine if I'm doing something like swimming, but once I'm done, I HAVE to be dry. And I do something similar to the last one. Specifically, I'll play through conversations before I ever have them, over and over again, going through what I can say. And then I ignore everything I thought of and blunder through it.

Oh, and I design entire scripts in my head before actually getting to the computer. Same with other computer-related activities. I have them planned out in excruciating detail before I actually site down. I generally end up planning this stuff out during dead time, like the 30 minute walk I have between the bus stop and my house.

And the weird thing about yelling ow like that is that I have a really high pain threshold. Most of the time, I barely feel stuff that seems to leave other people complaining that it hurt. Same goes for any diseases I catch, for some reason.

I can't sleep without the tele turned on, it has to be in the same room as me, anything can be on, even static, I just can't sleep in silence or with music playing, however, if the music is on a channel on tele, then I can sleep, it's really weird. Also, if someone turns the tele off while I'm asleep, I'll not wake up for like 12 hours of sleep, but if they leave it on, I'll wake up after like 6-8 hours of sleep, turn it off, then go back to sleep for the remainder of the time.

Same here. I keep a box fan about six inches away from my face when I sleep. It's more for the noise, but in summer months the cool comes in handy too.

When I was little, I used to count every word I said and write down the number in a notebook. I had 4 3-Subject Notebooks completely filled up with random numbers.

I just always have the ceiling fan turned on anyway, it's a godsend, even in these cold nights where my quilt cover is so cold I shiver, lol.

fyi kiddos
it's recommended by doctors to always sleep with whitenoise actually so it's not really a quirk to be unable to sleep w/o it
our brains are hardwired to be alerted and exit deep sleep stages when senses light up; the quieter a room is, the larger the difference in db caused by a random noise, and the more likely your brain is to be alerted by it
if you never ever use whitenoise (i.e. fans) your mind will be more accustomed to "ignoring" these peaks, but if you are used to the noise cancellation, you will be more prone to disturbances

- i can't hold my breath underwater unless something else is plugging my nostrils for me. no matter what i try, i can't keep water from gushing up my nose and choking me after submerging, unless i have a noseplug or use my hand to plug it. i see people dive & swim all the time without plugging their nose and i've never been able to figure out how they do it.

curl your upper lip to cover up your nostrils, that's what i do. it looks goofy, but it gets the job done, and you can still exhale during.

wh how do you curl your upper lip in a way that would actually block your nostrils
wouldnt i have to have giant lips
im not black

(if that was a trick to get me to sit here at my desk and try to maneuver my upper lip in vain, you succeeeded)

earlobes & lateral incisors

o/t
- i walk incredislowly. some people call it "lumbering". i like to think of it like a "swagger".
really it's just the verb form of "lazy"

I used to count things like steps when walking somewhere, but it annoyed me, so I trained myself to stop doing it.

I will wander around late at night talking to myself. Not having a conversation, but thinking aloud.

Instead of sitting cross-legged like normal people, I'll normally sit with one leg completely over the other. I prefer to sit like this even in chairs, but that's partially because I'm short, so generally only my toes touch the floor in most chairs. Also, I can put my heel on top of my head.

@Daxis: Trust me, being smart does NOT make up for lack of study habits if you go to a school that's actually challenging. So you may brag now, but you're gonna regret it later if you don't work on that.

Absolutely.

I'm struggling in some Uni classes, and yet all through highschool I never studied once and got near enough 100%, although to be honest I was a big reader and I guess the things I read in my own time were related to the studyin anyway.

I do this too, but not because I'm short, in MOST chairs I can actually put my feet firmly on the floor, but I cross one leg over at ALL times, like I'm doing right now, lol. Also I can top your heel head trick... both legs over my head!

... It hurts, and it's hard to undo without someone helping me, but damn I can do it!
