In-Battle & Onmap event help

Hello,

I'm having trouble with two problems at the moment. I am trying to make a character disappear during a skills progression, and return once it is over. I'm wondering how to do this using only events? I'm using a side view script:

'You having trouble with problems? I'm pretty sure there's no way to do that with only events, you would need scripts to call the events.

As for the second thing, you can use two variables and in there you can choose Hero/event coordinates (x/y). Then you make a conditional branch that tells that when for example x is 003 and y is 002 (wherever your switch is) the switch will turn.
I am crappy at explaining but that stuff's pretty easy so give it a try.
 
Got it to work, thanks Emtch. I didn't notice that you could check an events coordinates.

But still need help with the first ;D
