Importing.

I don't know if this is the right place for this but does anyone know how to import a image into photoshop and then make it transparent?
I've created some pictures and I know if I draw in photoshop with a transparent backround the picture will be transparent. But I'd like to import a picture I've done and make it transparent so it looks smooth.

I have another problem now. When I delete the backround and import it into rrpgmaker i don't get the option to pick the transparent color [ So I though it worked ] but it has all white around it. A square.

That's because it has Alpha information in it. One way to fix this is change the image to Indexed color, and keep the Transparency checkbox checked. But if your image uses more than 256 colors, this will mess up your image. Another way is to copy and paste the image into a new image, and save it that way.
