I'd get contacts if I were you, to avoid something like this, somehow, happening again. I also have shitty vision (like 20 240 I believe. No fucking joke), so I had to get the "hard" contacts, which the eye doctor made sound a lot worse than they are in reality. In fact, I consider them a lot easier than "regular" contacts. Though like you said, they can be expensive as fuck, but I don't see why they're a hassle? They take like a week to get used to and to be good at putting them in/ taking them out. And I don't get what you mean by disgusting.

when i first put contacts in i cried for an hour...

they're a fuckload simpler than glasses though. less cumbersome/don't need to clean/no risk of losing them at gigs/clubs etc, surprisingly inexpensive too. much prefer them

Neither do I. Even today, it still takes me 4 or 5 tries for someone/me to put eye drops in, even if someone is holding my eye. But you just have to not think about it.

But meh, can't force things upon you. Just my 2 cents, I guess.

I lost my glasses on a debate trip. It's still horrible- Gotta walk all the way to the front when board work is being done- Anything past arm's reach is unreadable- Regardless of size.

My roomie got a buy 1 get 2 free deal at Eyeglass World.
He ended up paying $300 (he figured he might as well get nice ones since 2 would be free).

LensFactor has tons of deals all the time.

I saw a somewhat similar thing once. A rollercoaster like thing (just a drop and a jump), this fat kid goes up, notices he has his glasses on, takes them off and throws them down from the top while shouting "Catch these, sis". They hit the ground and the lenses shattered. Smart kid.
Not very similar, but it was at a rollercoaster like ride.

Contacts are a lot easier to lose in a pool, though.  And I'm not just talking about trying to find them in the water; they come out a lot easier than glasses come off.
