Im a newbie and i need ALOT of help.

Hi! Im kinda new to RPG maker (ive had it for 3 days) and i need some (ALOT of) help.

I'm currently failing at the "skills" and need help. You know, the special attacks/spells you can assign the characters and/or monsters. What i want to be able to do is create attacks that only hit 2 or 3 people, attacks that hit friends AND foes, and, attacks that drain life/SP. Ive checked around in common events but those can only work with specified numbers (as far as i know), and its a bugger to have a attack that does the exact same thing at lvl.1 and at lvl.99. Also, common events dont show that the damage has been dealt (the numbers that pop up on the monster/character loosing health).

Also, i know how you select so a armor zero:es the chanse for a state alignment to hit, but how do you do so instead of completley guarding, the armor maybe only reduces the chanse by 50%?

Another thing is that some of my songs once imported sound all scrambled and stuff, which is annoying as alot of the songs i want to use turn out this way, i'd appriciate if someone could tell me how to fix it, or, atleast whats causing it.

Also, i'd like to know if there is any maximum limit of maps you can have in rpg maker, because the project im working on will be big... Very big.

And is there a way to make enemies use items?

Also, how do you make a enemie be able to drop more then one thing? (Example; 40% drop on potion, 30% on hi-potion for the same enemy)?

And finally, if i want a certain troop to be harder to encounter then others, is the only way to lower the chanse of fighting it by re-adding more of the other troops?

I know its alot, but, help would be very much appriciated. :grin:

...Okay, I hate to tell you this, buddy, but most of what you just listed can only be done with scripting, and I know how difficult it is for a new player to work with scripts.

As for your map question, you can have up to 999 maps.
 
Well, in the interests of throwing you a bone, I'll mention that there's ways of doing a couple of these things-- if you want a common-event based effect to do variable damage, you can do things like assign a variable equal to a party member's current INT times three (or some such), and do that much damage to the party.

Also, if you want to have a very rare monster, you can put it in an encounter group flagged with "Appear Halfway," which will cause it to not be there unless you use "Enemy Appearance" during the fight.

Then, just generate a random number at the start of the fight-- let's say 1-20-- and on a 20, have the rare monster appear.
 
Alright... I guess i better start googling script tutorials, but, another question.

Is it possible to have it so you can walk both under and over a bridge? because whenever i put a bridge somewhere, you can walk across over it, but not underneath it.
